Promoting other listings on my listings

I'm just curious what other sellers think about the numerous ads of other sellers on your item pages? When I pay ebay to promote my listings, I don't think there should be 20 ads of other listings from other sellers selling the same thing on my page. Guess I'll have to consider not promoting at all, or move to another platform. Keep going for the money grab ebay you won't have a site after a while.

it is very irritating to see. but if you promote, your items are helping fill up another sellers' pages. I don't promote so my stuff isn't irritating other sellers. I do believe promoting is a money maker for eBay, not us!

This other seller ads on your own listings has been going on for years. The thing is you have to imagine if you promote yours then yours will be on other sellers listings. Its so important your titles are the best they can be and your images to. ebay will always be around there are millions of sellers and buyers. On the money grab you just need to be happy that your still making a good profit on items you got for free or dirt cheap.

It's disgusting. They're putting links to other sellers at the top of my listings, above the item specifics & the description. I pay money for a virtual storefront and eBay is essentially coming into my store and intervening on my customers by advertising other stores because they're paying them to do so IN MY STORE.

This is the equivalent of Target paying a strip-mall owner to put advertising for Target in the Walmart at the other end of the mall. It's **bleep**.

Not to mention that every time they tinker around like this, sales plummet and customers can't buy my stuff. I was messaged today by a customer, second one in last few days, who said - eBay is not letting me make offers on your items.

My store and my listings are mine. To put adverts to other stores AT THE TOP of my listings is obscene. I'm cross-listing everything starting this week. This is absurd.

"I'm cross-listing everything starting this week."

Good tactic. Good luck.

Its going to continue to turn off buyers and drive them from the site.  Its too much unasked for info when they are actually trying to discover info about something they are interested in.  It becomes a hindrance and takes up so much overall page space to navigate past.

Its bad business practice.  It turns off buyers who don't want to wade through all the unasked for garbage.

@duncanvr

Not the same way it is displayed today, it all used to be under the description and pictures, but now in the middle of picture and description, very distracting to buyers.
