Promoted Listings - use it? never use it? sometimes use? which option do you do

I'm not new to selling but I have just recently started selling more. I'm unsure when it's worth selecting the Promoted Listings option to display my listing as a sponsored item. This also means I will pay an add fee on top of the final value fees.

I'm looking for a reply from those that use it and that won't use it.

Thank you in advance.

Promoted Listings - use it? never use it? sometimes use? which option do you do

>and that won't use it.

I've often wondered why eBay sellers are now willing to pay for something that used to be free.

eBay's obvious gambit to increase free listings from 50 to 250 a while back has had the desired effect. Categories are now flooded to excess with similar or identical items. If sellers want their items to be seen they must now pay for Promoted Listings to get their items on at least the first couple of listing pages in order to be seen and get sales.

eBay's strategy to increase profits by bilking sellers with ever-increasing and additional fees instead of working to fix it's ever-dwindling buyer base appears to be working.

Whether you are a buyer, seller or both, eBay is not your friend.

I don't mean to be rude but you can search promoted listings on this board and find plenty of opinions. It isn't a new topic some sellers swear by pl. Some swear at it, but your best bet is to experiment with it

After reviewing others that asked a similar question, suggested by the first responder, I have decided to remove the promoting on all listings. I will just review my title, category, pictures, price and description and go from there.

Thank you for the responses. This is the first time I've posted a question.

@w.ky.treasures  That is the best thing a seller can do...experiment with it. See how your sales are with and without it, and at various rates, etc. And yes, improving the overall quality of one's listings can be a big step towards increasing sales....Good luck, hope you have great sales!
