Just FYI - it looks like eBay is expanding the available placements for PL Advanced CPC ads as well as Promoted Display ads for stores.
PL Advanced started with just the top slot in search, then expanded to top 4 slots, then top 4 plus 3 "premium placements" and now eBay is saying those ads will be eligible to be shown all throughout search results.
That means PLA will be competing even more with Promoted Listings Standard in search and any "sponsored" item anywhere within search results may be a cost per click ad.

We expanded the number of slots that eligible Promoted Listings Advanced ads can appear in to include more placements throughout the search results page.
This expansion gives more opportunity for eligible Promoted Listings Advanced ads to appear on the search results page. This expansion will also help scale the visibility of sellers ads.
Promoted Listings Advanced ads are automatically eligible to appear in slots throughout the search results page. Sellers can head to the Advertising Dashboard to launch a new Advanced campaign.
It also appears they are expanding the Promoted Display ad placement to include a module above search in addition to the placements we've seen on the View Item page.

@valueaddedresource Thanks for the update. No real surprise, as we pretty much knew they would do more to expand this stuff, just as they did as PLS evolved. One can only hope there will be some announcements of real improvements at ebay Open, improvements not tied to ebay's revenue enhancing ads magic.
I won't hold my breath while waiting....

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques you're welcome!
Something truly magical at eBay Open not related to ads would be nice but like you, I'm not holding my breath.

Well, while it's expanding, it's useless. I have used it. I have let eBay have it's way and I selected automated setup and chose all of my listings and used their suggested bids from $1-$3 per click. I got a few sales and paid up for them, but nothing like the sales I have had daily for 4 years straight. It's one huge failure as far as I'm concerned. I don't see it being useful for large sellers either. Large sellers price their items lower with less margin. There's no room for $2 clicks. It's not even funny how ridiculous this all is.
