Hello, all
I hope this is the right place on ebay to bring this up. Yesterday I put up a 67 pc. lot of Barbie, Tammy, Francie, etc. clothes and started the auction price at $35. Within hours I got a request to make an offer. I politely declined saying I planned to run this item until it sold. (or not) They responded saying they wanted to offer more than I was asking.
I just went through this a few weeks ago with someone actually bidding $60 for an item that would never reach that price. Naturally, it was a scam. They wanted me to call them or email them. I just let the bid stay there, they never paid when they won the auction. The chat room folks advised me on that one, so now I'm leery of the one mentioned above.
Is this another scam, do you think? Their user name suggests they have a business, so I'm wondering if they just want to pay a little more before other "dealers" get wind of this auction. I haven't responded to their email because I don't know what to say other than, "so bid on it!"
Appreciate any suggestions you might have.

There is a second reason why someone might want you to sell to them: because they know it's going to go high, they want to buy low, and hope you don't know what it's worth.
Both cases yield the same answer: I'm leaving the auction to run to completion.

"Thank you for your offer. I've decided to allow the listing to run till the end. "

I don't know if it is a scam, but if they want it let them bid. If they don't want it, they won't bid.
I wouldn't do anything other that what you already did (I politely declined )
and let the auction run it's course.
