Problem with Promoted Listing Links in Chrome? Hurting sales?

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this on a PC in Chrome (I am not seeing it with Edge/Bing, which is the other browser I have on my PC)

I go to a random listing page (not my own). Of course, it is filled with Promoted Listing links.

Fine. That's normal.

I click on any Promoted Listing.

1 of 2 things happens apparently at random:

The click results in the listing page opening, as intended.

The click results in the listing NOT opening, and instead, I get this message:

mycottagebooksandantiques_0-1679608990230.png

I am getting this message with considerable frequency. It is obviously wrong----I have confirmed that all these listings are indeed active listings. They certainly are not listings that ended more than 90 days ago.

As I say, I've found no pattern here. Some show up just fine, some bring up this message.

Obviously, if a lot of buyers are seeing this message instead of the view item page, some of us may be losing sales. Also, it raises the question: does the click still counts as a view for PLS fee purposes, even though the buyer could not get through to the listing itself.

Anyone else seeing this?

I have tried deleting history, and closing and re-opening Chrome. When I get a chance, I'll try rebooting the PC, to see if that has any effect.

OK, looks like I fixed it now. I had previously cleared History and cache, but not cookies. Just cleared cookies and I seem to be OK.

I hope this is not a widespread problem, because obviously not every buyer will take the time to clear cookies.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  I just tested a bit in Chrome and haven't been able to replicate the issue but will keep playing around with it.

However, someone else reported getting that same message not related to Promoted Listings as well:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/When-trying-to-view-listing-not-edit-but-details/m-p/33642490#...

So if anything, I'm guessing there may be something going on right now that is causing some listings not to be recognized as active, regardless of whether they are promoted or not....you just happen to be finding some of them that way.

Good question about whether the click counts for PL though. ðŸ¤”

I have been seeing the item not found message often enough to be a little concerned...sometimes on an item from search results and even when viewing my own listings or a seller's other items.

Seems to be a random glitch - if I go back and click the link again it will usually load correctly.

BTW I have seen on Chrome, Edge and Opera and all my stuff has the latest updates, no browser add-ons or other things running...I just have the browser's built in ad blocking settings turned on. I also clear cookies, temp files and restart everything at least daily.

I saw another thread with I think the same message.  I'm in Chrome & have been active all day with no problems.  That guy cleared his cache & cookies & said it fixed it.  BUT, I don't think it really did.  I think it's just Thursday weirdness.

Though I haven't seen this, I saw Thurs update weirdness elsewhere today.
