I am in the midst of my first experience with a "Private Feedback" buyer. I already know it's not going to go well, but they paid so there's nothing I can do at this point.
I had no idea Private Feedback existed, is there a setting to block PF from bidding on your items or do I just have to monitor every bidding list? Any advice is apprciated, wish me luck.

Here is a link to the private feedback policy and why it is used by some members.

I hope that helps?
Good Luck Selling!

PF in and of itself is not a problem, nor an indication of a problem buyer. Whatever problem you're having could be from any member, PF or not.
If item descriptions were not included or if FB were not visible to anyone but sellers involved in a transaction, there would be no need for it.

There's no way to block bidders with private feedback, nor is there any reason to. At this time of year, many members will set to private so snoopy friends and family can't find out what they have purchased.
SOME buyers might have set their fb to private so you can't see nasty comments that they have left for other sellers, but frankly that's such a remote possibility that it's not worth pursuing.

I just completed a transaction with a Private Feedback buyer ... all went smoothly and they left postive feedback the day after delivery. I'm not a real fan of the Private Feedback setting, and will always eye the transaction like a hawk, but in this last case, for me, it worked out swimmingly.

But once they've placed a bid or submitted an offer, the seller can see it, can't they? Possibly after they've sent an ASQ also, but I'm not sure about that.

It doesn't really say here, but this is another policy that needs to be updated.

Only the Feedback comments are hidden from other members. Your Feedback Score - the number of positive, neutral, and negative Feedback ratings you’ve received – is still public.
Since only buyers can have PF and buyers cannot receive Neutral or Negative FB, there is no need for that phrase, correct?

No, the seller can never see it as long as the buyer keeps it set on Private.

I have a feeling it has nothing to do with private feedback. Provide the service a buyer would expect and 9 out of 10 times all should go well regardless of feedback.

Nope. As myboardid explained: Private is Private. If a member has their feedback set to Private, then there is no way for any other member to see it under any circumstances. If the OP could see her buyer's feedback even though it was set to Private, this thread wouldn't exist.

Incorrect.
A person who buys your item can also be a seller, and thus he can have negative or neutral feedback. There are plenty of people on eBay who buy and sell on the same account.

There was a thread about this type of buyer just a few days ago:
There's certainly no harm in setting up that buyer requirement block. The neg also could be for buying, long long ago.

I sell entertainment memorabilia. Occasionally, someone well known will purchase an item and wish to have feedback hidden.

But a Seller can't have PF, so the policy is incorrectly worded.

A former seller can have PF
