Postponing listings

I have an Ebay store. I am based in Massachusetts at the present time but I will be moving to Florida in November for the winter (until May). I have a good inventory at both locations.

I would like to keep my listings, but I can only transport half to Florida because of size and weight.

Can I keep the ones I cant move, and make them inactive until I return in May ? Then reactivate them.

I'm looking to save a really long job of delisting again.

No.  You can only have unsold items in your unsold folder for 90 days.  After that, they are gone.

Is there anybody near you in Massachusetts who you would trust to "do the manual labor" on inventory you leave behind, and do not take to Florida?  You would still be notified by eBay when an item sells; then you contact your Massachusetts "staff" to wrap and package, print mailing labels, make sure tracking is uploaded, and get the merchandise to the Post Office on time.

That seems to be a viable option IF you are comfortable giving up that work to someone you really, really trust.   Otherwise, delisting and then relisting may have to be done.

Be risk adverse & delist those items that you will not be transporting with you to Florida

It's not a perfect solution, but here's what you could do.

  1. Bulk edit all the listings you want to archive to add $5000 to the price. Then immediately end them all.
  2. Every 45 days or so, relist those items and then immediately end them all. This should "reset" the end date and keep them around for another 60 or 90 days. (The high price will prevent anyone from accidentally buying them for that brief time they are relisted).
  3. When you return, relist those items and then immediately bulk-edit them to subtract the $5000 from the prices.

It's not an elegant solution, but it will save you the work of re-creating the listings. And it assumes you have enough free insertions available.

( eBay does have a File Exchange system for importing and exporting listings as data files, but I have never used it )

Just cross your fingers nothing sells for the moments they are live.
