Post Office First Class Shipping Disaster

I know we were told the Post Office was slowing down First Class mail, but if they do what they are doing to my package, I will have to stop selling all First Class mail. I mailed a package off to Missourri from California the 11th of May. On the 12th of May it landed in Central California at a place called Snelling Container Center and that is where it still is. My Postmaster is going to call and see if she can get it moving but told me all First Class will be going to container centers so they get full they can be trucked across country. That means even if they do start moving it tomorrow it could be a week or two more before the buyer receives it.  Which would be 3 to 4 weeks to deliver a package that should take no longer than a week to be delivered. Buyer are not going to wait for weeks to get their package. I think this is DeJoy's way of forcing seller and buyers to pay Priority mail for anything they mail or wait four to six weeks for delivery, which by the way is Third Class mail and if that is the case then they should not be able to charge us First Class mail rates.  If this continues this Holiday Season will not be a merry one for online business.

Post Office First Class Shipping Disaster

Could just be where I'm at (southern California). But I haven't noticed any significant slowdowns with First Class.

Yeah. Have seen some take a day or two to show any real movement after getting picked up. And a few seemed to take a day or two longer than what was estimated. But that doesn't seem too abnormal to me.

Forgot about First Class mostly going ground now though. Explains that one going to Puerto Rico recently taking a cross country trip last week. Whereas the week before it made it's way to San Juan the day after getting picked up. Probably just made the flight on its way there or something.

Yes First Class mail to distant zones is going to be 1 - 2 days slower, on the other hand First Class to close zone will be 1 - 2 days faster.

In any event this new process  is VERY NEW.

There will be very little "waiting for full containers" given the volume of mail moving through the system.

For example a policy change that has been in effect for about two years extended the delivery standard for First Class by one day, that change has had almost ZERO impact on my First Class shipments they are all still arriving within the old Standard with very rare exceptions to rural areas.

Suggest you wait for a few weeks or a month or more to see how much impact this change really has. Basing it on ONE item is foolhardy.

...since our beloved Congressmen and women in both Houses interfere the USPS, you might as well getting helps from your District US. Rep. or your State Senator...

...folks can cry out loud when their mailboxes were re-locating, or waiting too long for the new ones to install by the PO...and when their politicians stepped in, the local PO had to quickly resolve the issues...

...the General Postmaster is not the person whom set the USPS prices...all have to be approved by Postal Regulator Commission...you can file your individual complaint through their website...more information can be found at https://www.prc.gov

Post Office First Class Shipping Disaster

I did 6000 transactions last year, almost all my items have at least 2 shipping options a slower one and a faster one that costs more. Out of those 6000 transactions 1 customer selected the faster option and 5,999 customers selected the cheaper option. I can't imagine adding a day or two to that is going to change that much.
