If a seller gets an item removed for violating a listing policy (but won't tell you which policy) and only gives the seller a warning, does ebay then push that sellers items to the bottom of the list of similar items for sale? Even after paying to promote?
Before my warning I was getting over 100 views per listing, most times between 30 - 200 views, 20+ watchers and plenty of bids. Now I'm lucky to get 5 views, 2 watchers and 1 bid! I'm selling the same exact thing, I only sell 1 thing and be before this mystery violation warning I was selling each item for $50 - $500, now I'm selling for my opening bid price of $25! I don't understand or see how it could be anything but my listings being controlled and made invisible even though I pay for the "PROMOTION" on all my listings! I searched my items from a different computer yesterday and finally decided to quit looking once I got to page 35, they weren't there!
I never got any kind of message that my listings visibility or placement would be affected by this mystery violation, only a warning statement. And I did not relist the offending item.
I would call customer service again but I am terribly over stuffed with the lies they fed me the last few times I called. That's another issue I am very curious about, how can ebay waste money on all of the CSRs that can do absolutely nothing for you and only tell you what they think you want to hear? I'll pop a different conversation for that question/ subject, I have a feeling it will be a long one.
Thank you for any advice or experience on this issue.

This statement appears at the bottom of many ebay policy pages:
"Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account."

I've never seen a listing pulled where the notice did not include some idea of what the policy violation was.
What was the item?
If you are searching for your own items while logged in then what you see is completely different than what a regular buyer might see.

“I never got any kind of message that my listings visibility or placement would be affected by this mystery violation, only a warning statement. ..”
Like @itscalledapostingid mentioned, eBay outlines the consequences to policy violations in its Help pages and the User Agreement. It is assumed that sellers will educate themselves as to the expected outcomes when a rule is broken.

Some advice:
now I'm selling for my opening bid price of $25!
Don't use Auctions.
Switch to Fixed Price, at the price you want to get. Add Immediate Payment Required.
even though I pay for the "PROMOTION" on all my listings!
If it's not working for you, don't use it.
NOTE
I looked at your "wheat penny roll" and while I don't know much about coins, I thought pennies were copper and wheat pennies were American. The roll showing seems to be silver and to have an Australian crest on it.
I would call customer service again but I am terribly over stuffed with the lies they fed me the last few times I called.
You are not alone.
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that mean giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

Ok, what's that supposed to mean? That they will do all of those things to you, or none and it's up to you to figure out if any, or all has been done to you? I know what they CAN do, what HAVE they done is the question!

I looked at your items...I searched ebay for 4 of your items using the first five words of each listing's title. They all came up number one at the top of Best Match search results.

Oh boy! You're one of those that only reads the first two words in a listing and skips the rest of the title, description and anything else that describes what is for sale! Oh, not to mention the question the OP needed help with! THANKS!
