Please, please, please - stop adding filters to searches.
Buyer are not aware that their searches are filtered and assume that ebay does not have any of the items that they are looking for. The bolded cateory on the leftside is not obvious and is not noticed. I have had many friends and family members ask me why ebay does not have this or that and have gone to other sites (usually Amazon) to purchase. When I check their searches I see the unwanted filters.
Ebay - you can NOT guess what the buyer wants - please just match the search.
No other site applies guessed filters. Buyers expect to drill down by selecting their own filters.
Example search for "Banana Republic Coat" - the woman's clothing filter is automatically set.
What? There are no men's coats?? Guess I need to shop elsewhere.
We are all losing sales and sending frustrated buyers to other sites.
This is NOT AI.
Please just match the user supplied search critera.

Yea I hate this too. When searching I have to "back out" of the filter and it's annoying.
BTW, I've noticed Amazon does this too sometimes. I don't know what triggers it. Like with eBay, it seems to happen at random.

An interesting experience I have had with filters.
When is a toy car excluded from toys
looks like a diecast car of a movie character doesn't count as a diecast car in search any more.
Do we have to expect that buyers are going to know that they are NOT receiving all the results and back out and re-set search? lunacy.

This is insane! I never noticed it. When did this start? Is that why sales are so slow?
I just searched for a "Black Small Swimsuit" and it automatically takes me to only Women's!
I have to purposely click back out to "Men's Swimwear"
Ugggggh. eBay. WE ARE TIRED!

It's been like that for a while, and I hate it!
I get it all the time searching vintage cookbooks - I want to see ALL the categories, not just the cookbook category. A lot of vintage cookbooks are listed in antiquarian and collectible, and some are listed in collectibles for whatever brand or food type it may be pertaining to. It's a real pain in the behind, and I guarantee you that many, many buyers don't notice it. They just assume what they're looking for is not listed.
This so-called "intelligent" search is dumber than a box of rocks.

Just another reason sales are down. Is this not a sales site?? There is no viable reason to filter searches for a buyer...they can do that on their own (for example...search only items located in the U.S. so you don't have to look at the junk listings from China.) If a potential buyer wants to see ALL listings for an item, why in the world would you leave some items out?? ....to DECREASE sales??? Send them shopping on another site???
