I have noticed for the past couple of weeks, some of my listings (maybe 50% of them) have terrible quality photos.
I have for example a shirt listed in 2 sizes, I used the same photo in both listings, but in one it shows pixelated and terrible, on the other listing it shows perfectly.
I contacted both ebay and inkfrog and neither gave me a solution but to "revise the listings"
Is anyone else having this issue? it's becoming a pain to relist each listing as I have to create and edit each one

I picked out the 500px images to fit here, and you can see the problem even at this level. I've made these images clickable to full size.

There are blotchy pixel chunks that look like too much compression was added to the image, yet the pixelated image is a fatter file than the good image so the reverse was the result. The color shift is odd and is something I might expect in a conversion between RGB and CMYK color formats.
@berserkerplanet We saw a similar complaint a couple of weeks ago on the technical board. The image discussed on that forum was probably an 8MP or 12MP image, and the pixelation on that image was more uniform, thus I recommended uploading only a 2MP image so that eBay would not need to resize and compress so much. I don't think that applies here, and may not have been the reason on that other thread either.
@teesandpops Does this appear to be a one-time problem that occurred during a very short period of time, or do you see this onging with new photo uploads? If eBay's image processing is doing this and it has been going on for two weeks or more, we would see more complaints, which makes me think it happened one day and was fixed.
Another possibility is that the browser is doing this. eBay's uploader uses the "canvas" feature that is built into modern browsers to preprocess uploads (downsize to 1600 and perform any user edits like crop and brighten). The only way I could see this coming from the browser (without wholesale outcry) is if a browser plugin is interfering.
Yet another possibility is a photo management tool on your computer or cloud that is converting the image for storage or for fast delivery.
Replacing the bad images with new uploads would be the only solution, but pay attention to the three possibilities I've outlined above if the replacement image does not fix the issue. And please let us know the outcome of your replacement upload.

I noticed it as a buyer. I looked at a listing and could read the text on the package photo. When I looked at it again, a few days later, I could not. It did not occur to me that this may also be happening to my listings. I will have to check.

Hi, I have an example on items 382735499354 / 192865782662

Yeah the first item number looks great. The second item number looks pixelated or something. I can definitely see what you are talking about.

thanks for that reply. I have been editing the listings with bad photos, I noticed the problem persists in the revised listings after launching but maybe in only 20% of them-
I will carefully consider all your options, thanks a bunch

Did you get this issue resolved? I have also noticed the problems with image resolution. It seems to be an issue with relisting to Auction. Each time I relist to Auction the pixelation gets worse. My only workaround has been to only list to Fixed Price.
