s anyone else having major issues with the picture magnification tool? Only recently, it seems that many of my images on new listings can not be magnified when cursor is held over them {which is a great function eBay has and I like it very much}--this issue cause me to have to re-take many of the pictures, which then by trial and error eventually will be able to be magnified-sometime 3 or 4 in one listing will work-and 3 or 4 in the same listing won't-which makes me have to retake/edit them?? Anyone else finding this or know of any solutions to this?

I'm having the same issues. started about 4 days ago. Now most all of my pix in auction listings come up small and do not zoom. I send pix that are aprox. 1300 x 800 pixels. Called ebay, they were no help. I need to solve this issue. Can anyone help? Eric (stuffasfound)

Same problem. Just noticed on listings I submitted yesterday (August 23). Mike

this happened to me 3 or 4 months ago and the issue has never been resolved. and I believe it never will be fixed. now I can't tell what the best pictures are of the bunch when I upload because I can't zoom in on them when doing new listings. I have gotten used to it. my suggestion is you all should get used to it also. it is yet another time consuming add on with extra added steps to upload a proper listing for customers.

Same problem here. Pictures will not zoom on new listings created today. Previous listings working fine and unaffected. Glad to know I'm not alone. Here's hoping that eBay is working on a fix.

it sounds like eBay knows about this and is working on fixing it-which is great to hear!

That's great news. hopefully we don't have to take down and re-create the listings. Maybe it will self-correct, or at worst, we will only need to re-upload the images.

actually someone here mentioned that the problem is now in fact worst-which is correct as we just tried a few and none of the pictures are able to be magnified. The past few days, some were and some were not-so by trial and error and time, it can be solved. Now none are able to be magnified.

EKM,
Wouldn't be nice if an eBay person would reply to this thread and the other one on the same topic (with 17 messages in it)? There used to be folks at eBay who monitored the boards and would respond it an issue became prominent. I think they were referred to as "the pinks" because of the way their messages were highlighted.
Please, eBay, tell us what's up. We have other things to do today.
Mike
@Typically the only way one of the eBay team drops in on a thread is if someone "loops" them in by using the @ symbol ref and their ID which also has an @ symbol between their name and ebay ...

I started a few posts back when this happened to me a few months ago and the same thing, it was happening to others and those affected all responded, BUT not everyone was bit by this ISSUE and no blues responded. but when do they ever do really? Actually this affected many back then and the blame was passed on to the BROWSER we were using. I use Mozilla Firefox and at the time everyone else complaining were also using Mozilla Firefox. So I guess the question is are you all using Firefox? again my Hover over zoom Button has never returned.

It would appear that, if the magnification feature is not working consistently, seller would be better off taking closeup views of areas they need to emphasize when photographing the item and including those as part of the allowed photos.

I take an average of 25-40 photos per item and cover every possible angle. But the ZOOM feature really lets you see how good the picture actually is and this feature was an integral part of putting up 12 of the highest quality and most accurate images. now I have to go through 3 or 4 more time consuming steps to accomplish the same outcome. A QUALITY PRODUCT and IMAGE of item being sold~

Alas! If the feature isn't working what else can you do? I embed images of the item into my descriptions. I suppose that if you need to include closeups it could be done that way if you needed to show more than twelve. Unfortunately, it involves 3rd party hosting and added work in coding the listing.

this is exactly correct. It is very important that this gets fixed and if not, it is going to greatly penalize eBay because people will not buy items without being able to zoom in on them-the zoom is a fantastic feature eBay has done, and now it is not working. From the threads I only see one person who has actualy called them. We have been unable to do so today and we are in another country as well-as this issue effects so many of us-why are we only hearing that one person has picked up a phone to let them know about the problem?
