Photo requirements for the "zoom" feature.

I know the photos have to be at least 500 pixels on the largest side.

Does anyone know what size or at what  point is a photo eligible for the "zoom" feature?

I believe that images must be at least 800 pixels wide or high for the hover zoom feature.

Less than that the click to zoom may work, but not the hover zoom.

eBay doesn't really specify when the zoom starts.

I find that a 1200 pixel with on the photo seems to be the sweet spot

that retains photo quality and gives you a nice close zoom.

Much more than that and eBay will reduce in anyway and you seem to

lose quality.
