People who don't read means cancelled transactions and Paypal fees out of my pocket

I've been selling  for 20 years,  but recently it seems that people don't  read  the auction title and/or description .  I list 15 very similar items  in one  auction , where  people need to pick and buy only one.   Some  people think they get all 15 items for the price of one, although both in the auction title and description, I clearly state  PICK ONE.

So on a 76  dollar purchase,  Paypal keeps 2.50  for  the buyer not reading.  That's the buyers mistake.

What Can I do?   Can I keep the paypal fees  and return  the balance  through Paypal only . Or will ebay keep the 10%  commission fee then?  Ebay doesn't seem to have a partial  refund as an option.

 I don't have a store  so I can't list  15 items separately.

Choice listings are against ebay policy.

Offering a choice of different products in a single listing is not allowed.

You are incorrect sir. This has been going on for years.  😉

You can't list "pick and choose" auctions, you either need to run one listing for each item or you might be able to get away with a variation listing... In accordance with ebay policy your item(s) must match both pictures AND descriptions so when a buyer sees FIVE things in a picture and then receives only one, you are lucky they all cancelled before you shipped.

That's you problem. Don't do that and I believe it is also against Ebay policy for doing such a thing. By listing 15 items in one listing instead of 15 different listings you are avoiding fees.

So it looks like I need to change what I'm doing.
I can create listing variations according to this link. https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/creating-listings-variations?i.... I just need to have the correct picture for the part selected. I 've bought things this way, in particular with different sized or width, or color sneakers.

Aside from what others are saying, people using their phones have a hard time seeing all the item info. At this point, I think the great majority of people are buying from their phones. You have to adapt to this reality.
