Payment received for ORDERS NOT APPEARING?? Something is definitely amiss!

I have 5 orders that were paid for on Paypal. I have the complete buyer information, including the item # purchased on ebay, username, email etc...

However, there is NO RECORD of the sale on ebay??

Nothing under username, email, name and nothing showing under the sales history of the item#.

I have been selling since 2005 and know my way around ebay & paypal so this has me baffled.

I don't have any missing record numbers either.

Ebay is supposed to call me back when they figure something out, but if not for Endicia picking up the payments and printing a shipping label, I would have never known. In fact, Endicia capturing it from my store is even more puzzling they weren't among the orders showing ready to ship which were processed just fine.

Hoping it was just these 5 and the problem isn't larger.

this has happened to me a few times. i think it has something to do with the buyer checking out as a guest instead of a registered user. something gets lost in the mix along the way. i get angry messages a lot saying they never got the item but i never saw that sale on my ebay page but sure enough, if i search paypal, it's there. just waiting on the negative feedback one day because it'll be my fault...

That has happened to me twice so far in 12 years.....

I make a habit of checking paypal now,

Side note, they NEVER showed up on my sold list in ebay, i kept checking for something like 2 weeks and they just never appeared on ebay, strange but true!

Purely a WAG here, you understand, but along the same lines of these possibly being purchases from guest accounts:

I wonder if somehow the buyer's login to eBay (or whatever other connection is made in terms of a guest account buying stuff) quietly got interrupted or died while the buyer was making their PayPal payment, and thus the purchase details did not get successfully propagated back to eBay, or failed to update your product listing. PayPal was able to collect the money, but was not able make the transaction report to eBay. (Again, this is just a guess on my part, but I'm in Tech Support, so I am paid to guess. )
