Payment options when creating a Listing

Why does "Paypal" slips back to "Ebay payments" if the option is there?

Not sure I understand your question under MP PayPal is simply one of a number of payment options they are just not directly handling the money like they were before MP.  PayPal under MP is no different that a CC company the same applies to Google Pay.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but a buyer can still pay with PP, so sellers still accept PP, but we no longer use PP as OUR payment processor.

PayPal is a valid eBay payment method, so it is a subset of 'eBay Payments'.

yeah, I know... but "paypal" still appears as an option they provide (not as my policy specifically)

Where, specifically are you referring to?  Can you post a screen shot?  It should appear in the payment options b/c it IS a payment option.

What is your "policy specifically" that you are trying to add? What's your end game? 🤔

A few seconds after you select "paypal" it slips back to "ebay payments". Maybe it's a non-issue in the end but it's misleading (broken promise, money won't be fast after all) and apparently redundant bit of the UI.

My only explanation would be there's still some beautiful, secluded country somewhere unaffected by managed payments where they can choose pp and bam your cash is there right away 😉

no end-game just wondering why this option is still there — and maybe it would help improve sales idk...  "managed payments" probably doesn't sound right to buyers either 😏

I don't list through eBay, so I haven't seen that.  Not sure why, I'm guessing just part of the buggy rollout of the new listing tool 🤔

Buyers don't see the wording Managed Payments or eBay payments. If you go into one of your own listings as a buyer or into any seller's listings, you'll see the list of payment options that is shows on .com listings in most categories.

Buyers don't see any mention whatsoever of "Managed Payments." That's eBay's payment processor for sellers only. Buyers know nothing about it, nor do they see any reference to it anywhere.

The reference to "eBay Payments" means the approved payment methods buyers can use at checkout. Buyers don't actually see an option labeled "eBay Payments."

The following payment methods are offered at eBay checkout:

  • PayPal
  • PayPal Credit
  • Credit card or debit card
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Spendable funds
  • Payment upon pickup
  • Wire transfer facilitated by eBay (select categories only)
  • eBay gift card or eBay voucher or eBay Bucks

Listings in some categories may offer the following additional payment options:

  • Bank-to-bank transfers (also known as bank wire transfers and bank cash transfers)
  • Checks
  • Money orders
  • Online payment services (for example, Escrow.com, Allpay.net, CertaPay, Fiserv, Nochex.com, XOOM)

Available payment options may vary depending on the item price, listing category, and the buyer's device.

Not all payment methods are eligible for coverage under eBay Money Back Guarantee.

Pay Pal is not an option to be paid for sellers.

Have a great day.

How would it make any difference in sales?

Buyers can still pay using Pay Pal like before.

Have a great day.
