I've been a member of eBay since 1998. I have a 100% positive feedback rating. I have always shipped items right away, and I have always paid for the items I've bought as soon as the auction ended. I've been away from eBay for a while but just started selling some of my collectables and stuff. I sold an item today for $20 and after eBay takes their chunk, I will receive $16. So I was ready to get the buyer info and get my item ready to ship Monday. Then I noticed that it said my funds will be available April 2nd. I'm very upset about this. I've been using eBay for 25 years and have never received negative feedback and this is how they treat me? It's ridiculous! Had I known about this beforehand, I never would have listed any items on eBay. It was annoying enough that they took away PayPal but this is too much. They've gone too far! It saddens me because I have always enjoyed selling and buying on eBay. But I don't feel comfortable sending my item before I get my money. I actually use the money to pay for the shipping. Otherwise I'm out the shipping cost until eBay decides to give me my money. Not to mention I'm out the item as well. I might just cancel the rest of my listings and go to marketplace or something else. EBay was a great tool for buying and selling but it just sucks now.

While you have been away things have changed - read the link below.. This has been in effect for over 2 years or more. Time changes every thing. eBay views you as a new seller - your history means very little. You need to bone up on the other new eBays policies or learn all the new policies of a new venue. Good Luck

Unfortunately your length of time and feedback has no baring on the fact that you're treated as a new or infrequent seller, so your funds will be put on hold. Read the policy on Payments on Hold
You said it yourself it's been awhile since you've been on away lots have changed since you've been gone. Even though your payouts are on hold you can still ship the item you sold. The funds to pay for the label will come out of the funds on hold.

Sorry for your frustration. However, like many other things in business & in life things change.
New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices. This helps sellers become established and build a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically experience holds for up to 14 days, although sometimes it may be longer
Buyers have 30 days through eBay to decide that they are not happy with a purchase. eBay is not going to cover that refund. It will come out of the funds that are being held. Hang in there, it will go fast.
Happy Selling & St. Pats Day!

You can still use the money from this sale to pay for shipping when using eBay to buy the postage. When you go to ship, there is a button to press to allow the price of postage to come out of the sale. Once set, it will stay that way for future sales. Good luck.
