Afternoon Folks from here in HOT, MUGGY & MUDDY Nobletucky.
I once again took advantage of a $15 off coupon through an app purchase promo on Mrs C's account but it shows an hour glass on the payment.
I went to the paypal page and it says the following (with a few edits to remove the sellers info):
Loading transaction details for eBay $64.00

Mr. C, you should know better!
I'm going to go with temporary aberration!
He really wanted that drill!

Hi Jimmy,
Yes it could be any length of time seller if when creating the listing the PP payment email address is put in incorrectly then it would be in lymbo.
So now, if this is an innocent new seller that made an easy error when listing then emailing them might seem the right thing to do...yet if it is a scammer...notifying them of the error then would simply allow them to make a change so the payment will go through therefore allowing the scam to move one step further.
If I cancel then I also will lose out on my one time use $15 coupon correct?
Third option...waiting it out and let things fall where they may.
Mr C
EDIT:
It still is the Hour Glass that through me off...didn't realize this was the icon used when a payment was made but to an incorrect PP address...would have thought it would have kicked it out.

Seller could have an old email address in there, or the system could have picked the email address up wrong.
I believe you would lose your coupon.
Third option~that's where the time will tell comes in.
I think I waited 2 or 3 days before it became apparent that I needed to cancel, through clarifying the situation. My situation was vastly different in that this was a crafted item, and not something someone would post a fake listing for or a stock photo. A unique item.
If a scammer, Ebay may let you know via email shortly. They have a standard email advising of this. Of course they don't say scammer, they just say that the listing has been removed and you are not required to pay if you have not already done so, and they outline what steps to take if you have. If necessary, at that point, I think calling PP may get your money back quicker; hopefully someone else can weigh in on that. I have never been through the process or received the email, I have just read about it.

And the price was "too good to be true" ?
Hi there...actually the price was within the typical low end of the price range for goods like this...especially slow selling combo kits that are somewhat on "move out/phase out" intentions.
Why list this for $79 as a scam...when it many times only sells in the low $100 to begin with?
Now listing it at $39...I can understand.
Last Christmas I got several different pieces/combo's for this line of drill for $99 so the price definitely isn't out of line especially here on ebay when some folks are selling clearanced items.

Actually the ONLY time I've ever had to "claim a payment" was when my Mum transferred some AUD to me from down under and I had to accept the currency conversion to USD
Exactly yme... I have a friend in Norway that there are funds moved between us occasionally over the past 10+ years and this is the only time I needed to "Accept" the transfer.

Just send a message to the seller. They may be totally unaware that there is a problem and are just wondering why they are not getting paid.
The legitimacy of the sellers is really irrelevant, even if this was a scam you are fully covered by both eBay & PayPal.
If you do nothing at all and the payment remains unclaimed then in 30 days your payment will be reversed / cancelled by PayPal (or you can do it at any time).

Are you sure? It's $199 at Home Depot, CPO Milwaukee and Tool Barn, $306 at Grainger and $180 + $16 shipping at Amazon.

Hi Southern,
Well not so sure other than when I searched for it it gave me several options...and here it was at Ebay.
To give it some balance...I also am looking at the True temper Newer wheel barrow...priced around $174 to $214 everywhere but True Value has it for $79 this week...so we are getting that one tomorrow by going there and picking it up.
The M12 series of Milwaukee has a tremendously broad line of combo's and as mentioned before...I purchased 2 $199 sets for $99...use them all the time...and another Sawsall kit that is around $179 for $124 so it did not set off any alarms as being a scam...yet some say I have a slight rose tint to my glasses at times lol...hence why I came here.

Hi Labs,
Mrs C says Hi right back...
Here is the message I received from ebay just a short bit ago so it seems I feel for a scam listing:
Hello the-basic-homestead-usa,
We're writing to let you know that we've removed an item you recently won due to concerns with the seller's account:
323273810152 - Milwaukee2598-22 12V Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill&Impact Driver ComboKit a
It looks like you haven't paid for this item yet, and the seller hasn't shipped the item. Since we've canceled the transaction, please don't send any payment.
We wish you all the best on eBay and hope your future experiences are pleasant and successful. If you have questions, please click "Help & Contact" at the top of most eBay pages.

And that's the email I was referring to!
You can just cancel the payment now.
So sorry, no drill for you...but hopefully you will find another soon.
