PayPal allows you to block echecks

No, it's been around as long as I can remember. You can't block e-check Ebay payments, though. You can block them for any other payment, such as your own website, personal payments, etc.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I don't get echecks anywhere else but from eBay. It would be nice if we could block those too. They can be such a problem.  The wait is worse too for them to clear.

If you do immediate payment required a buyer can’t use an echeck

Unfortunately, not true.  I had an Ebay buyer pay with an echeck on my listing that was buy it now with immediate payment required.  I posted here about it at the time.  It was on a listing for a Halloween costume.  Buyer "purchased" the costume with an echeck a few days before Halloween and added a note to seller...please ship quickly as this is for a Halloween party.  It was a mess.  So yes, it is possible for an Ebay buyer to purchase with an echeck even though your listing is buy it now WITH immediate payment required.  I wouldn't have believed it possible if it hadn't happened to me.

Well they aren’t supposed to be able to.  Now with eBay’s immediate payment required they can use an echeck but with the one a seller chooses it’s not supposed to allow it
