Part doesn’t fit

So sold a PS3 plastic hard drive cover buyer is returning because it does not fit. Every gamer knows there are different versions of the PS3 console and that you as a buyer should investigate any part you need before you buy. Item  164151287276. I was only starting to sell parts of systems. I stopped selling game systems Period when scammers started to pull the item does not work garbage now looks like I am going to stop selling parts. I still can’t believe EBay let’s people get away with this.

Sad thing is he never even bothered to ask any questions before buying.

Unfortunately, these days, your listings have to be "idiot proof". Never assume the buyer is as knowledgable as you.

Well next time I need a new part for a system will try this scam and see if the seller caves.

It never even gave me a chance to fight the return.

Most likely, you would have lost a "not as described" return (regardless of who's fault it is).   Ebay almost always sides with the buyer.  

If you had decided to "fight it" and lost the case, the buyer would get a refund out of your paypal account AND get to keep the part.

Done with console parts now. Seems like my do not lis on eBay list get larger and larger.

heh...there's no such thing as "idiot proof"...the best you can hope for is "idiot resistant".

TBH it isn't worth selling low or high value items on eBay anymore. Just sitting here waiting for a better alternative to eBay personally.

The buyer still has not shipped the item and the time is about to expire on his return.

So pretty much May 15th has come and gone that was the deadline for the Buyer to ship for refund he has not shipped. I have no part but when I check the return Page the only option is to give the person a refund.

You have to be patient, I would just let it time out as it will eventually default in your favor and then nobody can accuse you of jumping the gun (and if they do you can say the case timed out on its own).

I have found ebay is best handled in that passive aggressive way, it works a little like no news is good news.

so the case is still open the buyer has not returned the item the deadline was May 15th and I can not get a hold of a human on EBay to close this the only options it gives me still is refund what can I do?
