Packing Items

You are located in Sri Lanka, so I suggest you ship all of your items in a cardboard box, protecting the item with either styrofoam peanuts or bubble wrap so the item will survive the journey to the buyer's home country.

Packing Items

Hello and welcome!

Below is some info from Ebay regarding how to pack, along with shipping policies, see the links.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/posting-items/labels-packaging-tips/packing-sold-items?id=4156

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/default/shipping-policy?id=5035

How to pack depends on the item you are selling. What items are you planning on listing?

My method involves packing the item prior to listing so i have the exact dimensions and weight of the box or bag. I use calculated shipping in my listings. This way i am not surprised by shipping costs—i know upfront what they are.

Then the package goes on the shelf to await its purchase. Another reason i  pre-package my items is so i am not caught off guard when something sells and have to hunt for packing materials. It is ready to be shipped, but I leave the box or bag unsealed in storage in case a customer has a question and i need access to the goods.

Pre-packaging works for me because i am a small seller and have the room to store all those packages. So that is something to consider.

How a seller should pack an item depends upon what the item is, where it is being shipped, and what shipping service is being used.

Since there are millions of items on eBay, no one is going explain the millions of different ways an item might be packed.

It would help a grat deal if you gave us more information about what the item is, where it is being shipped, and what shipping service is being used.

Packing Items

You need to pack all items to arrive safely with NO breakage.  You must receive packages, right?  Pay attention to how the items you receive are packed and do the same or better.  Use lots of packing materials around the item and always put it into another box, even if it's already boxed.  A general rule is, after the item is boxed up, you should be able to shake the box vigorously and hear absolutely NOTHING.  That's how you know the item is well packed.  Good luck.
