Only a few views auction 4 days old!

My alter ego here.  I'm selling expensive new deco pillows and it's a big name that normally sells well.  For some reason I only have 8 views and 1 bid at $0.99!

Normally I don't price lower than I will take but Normally I have more than 8 views and 2 extra watchers other than me and bidder.

Should I take it down in light of some sort of glitch....or hope for the best?

My newbie alter ego 🙂

I do not see a pillow listed under this name.  So if this isa posting ID, we really cannot help you to see if there is a problem when we cannot see the listing.

-Take it down if you want to be a jerk

-Honor your listing & chalk it up to experience if you get less than you want if you don't want to be a jerk

-Claim it's a glitch if you want to be a jerk but pretend that you're not

easy peasy

Its not a glitch, its just slow. If you have a bid you should leave the auction go. Cancelling because you didn't get what you wanted just isn't right. Its one of the top complaints from buyers on these boards.

I mean it only takes a few bidders to be competitive.

And I've eyeballed many, MANY items that were at 1 to 99 cents up until the last 30 seconds and then all of a sudden they shoot up to near, at or even above market value.

I find it's extremely difficult to get "any" item in any category for an insane deal. Sure, it does happen that sellers lose money and items close for a penny or 99 cents, but I really think that is quite rare compared to the number of auctions that are actually out there.

Even the most obscure and weird things I see people people bidding up in the final seconds of an auction.

My recommendation would just wait it out and see what happens. If your results end up undesirable, ship with a smile and next time set the starting price to your absolute minimum, or perhaps better yet, try fixed price listings.

Okie dokie.  I appreciate your time...

But it really Must be a search engine glitch.

They have msrp of at least 180....forgot amount now.

So I don't Flippin understand.  I can't change it w a bid but think all the keywords are there

It's quite impossible for us to give you further guidance regarding the reason your item may not be displaying properly to potential buyers since we cannot see the listing which you've stated is on your other account.

80% of all listings are fixed price, immediate payment required.

Watchers may not turn into bidders.

Auction listings may be appropriate for unique items; I don't know that people will want to wait a week to see if they won a pillow, and you are taking a chance listing them at 99 cents.  They could end with just one bid.

Your call; but in my opinion, this sounds very iffy.  However, you have a bid.  Buyers hate when their bids are cancelled.  You might pick up some interest or bids toward the end of the listing; but that is not a certainty.

If you are uneasy starting that low, then just don't start at 99 cents.  Start at a more realistic price.  I don't know how much of a bidding war there would be over a pillow, no offense intended.

There's an old Board saying, never list at less than you are willing to accept.

All wonderful!  I am going to keep it going and ship out w a smile if it doesn't go for very much.  I had not listed very many auctions lately just now starting to try to clear things out.

Another thing to keep in mind.

Of course ebay started out and is well known as an "auction site". But more recently, it has become more and more a "buy-now" site as the majority of listings are buy-now.

So it may be worth it to try listing your items as buy-now, and perhaps require immediate payment to dodge the multitude of scammers out there trying to pull of a whole slew of scams. Oh yeah, and hope that ebay doesn't automatically determine for you to add "best offer". Smiley Happy
