One More Store Search Oddity

As I searched my store to make sure I was not listing a duplicate of an item that had the word "bloom" in the title, I was surprised to see all the listings pulled up which instead, had "flower" in the title. OK, I understand the logic, but not helpful in this case. AI run amuck.

Excellent suggestion, but "bloom" in quotes still gets "blossoms" and "flowers" returned. I'm searching active listings.

Searching in seller hub will yield those results whether you use quotes or not. Using the regular search on eBay will not - quotes will restrict the results and show you what you're looking for.

@kds99

To avoid those keyword substitutions, try putting bloom in quotes.

There are other problems with store searches -- try searching for buttons, then searching for button. The former will find no results, while the latter will find many instances of buttons. Then try buttons -octopus instead.

Ah. I thought you were searching store names using "Find Store", which has its own problems.

If I search your store for "bloom" I get no results, currently.

Without the quotes I get nine results that contain flower or blossom variations.

Using quotes ("bloom") or an exclusion term (bloom -octopus) should find only the exact term if it appears, with no substitutions.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I can accept that this might be the way it is. I just don't think it's useful for managing listings.
