So, I sold an item a week or so ago, over $1000, the buyer was a brand new ebay member with zero feedback. I mean a new member that day. The Buyer received the item and the next day opened a dispute throuh paypal, (for some reason, did not use ebay.)
The DIspute is an 'item not as described' and in the buyer's comment, he simply entered: "Item damaged". and he offered nothing else.
So, I answered through paypal message, "What is the damage?"
And more than a day later, the buyer has not yet rsponded.
I don't know how paypal disputes play out. I'm very familiar with ebay disputes, but not paypal. I' wary that this buyer may be laying the ground work for a scam.

PayPal will require the buyer to ship it back at his expense.
Then you will be required to issue a 100% refund.

Thanks Sam,
That will be fair enough-- assuming that's how it goes down.

Thanks Joey.
Looks like nothing happens until he responds, and eventually he will have to escalate it to a claim to finish this thing out.
Just a little odd for the buyer to not offer some further explantion as to what the damage is , but, it is what it is--

Watch your timeframes on PayPal. If you dont' hear from the buyer in a day or too I would be calling Paypal and discussing this, just to protect yourself.

There is no reason to call PayPal.
