Obscene Negative Feedback Completely Ignored~No Sale Was Even Made

I have been selling continuously since January, 1999.  I now feel officially abandoned by eBay.  I have reported an obscene negative feedback against me (causing me to lose my 100% rating) at least 5-6 times and have not received a single response from eBay.  

Ironically the negative feedback was placed by a foreign buyer who DID NOT complete a sale with me.  No money or merchandise was exchanged.  Somehow the person managed to slip a negative obscene feedback onto my feedback.  Implausible and highly unlikely you say?

The feedback is still there.

 I am finally weary of being ignored.  Over 5000 feedbacks later, I will probably move on to a more responsive playing field.  And by the way, the 3 "Announcements" at the top of my All Selling eBay Page are dated October, 2016.

They moved the Announcements over to the Community in Nov. '16.  I have the same annoying section with the same 3 Announcements on MyeBay page too... you cannot move it, collapse it, hide it or anything else.   Since most users will never visit anything in the eBay Community, their Announcements now only reach a very small percentage of users... leading to more confusion for users.

 

No worries though... if I read the many complaints here recently correctly, they're about to do away with the MyeBay page entirely and force you into their "Seller Hub". 

The Floggings Will Continue Until Morale Improves.

Did you CALL eBay and request it be removed?

Sadly, I believe there's a time limit to do so. 

 

One neg doesn't hurt your reputation so try to not stress over it.. It happens to us all, eventually.

I thought an Unpaid Item Dispute (did you file one?) closed in your favor with no payment

prevents a buyer from leaving any feedback.

Yes. Try to get someone in the USA on the phone, not Subic Bay.  That one should get pulled. Sorry one got through. If you get Subic Bay just hang up, try again in 4 or 6 hours. They are worthless. You want someone in the U.S. who cares and knows how this is supposed to work.

By "Reporting" do you mean you've called?

 

If not ,call ebay, they can see the feedback and should remove it.

There are some circumstances where a defect, feedback, or late shipment can be manually reviewed. Sellers may appeal in these cases, but must make the request within 90 days of the transaction.

Examples include:

Hi, sorry to hear this. If you don't mind my asking, why was the transaction never completed? What set him off?

 

Regardless, this is outrageous and offensive in the extreme. So very sorry.

The feedback is appalling & the wording should qualify for removal.

 

However there was a sale as the feedback indicates.

That feedback should be removed - it falls within their guidelines.  

 

Since it was an international buyer, they may not because that was what eBay told me when a Canadian buyer left me negative FB because I refused to pay for return shipping.  And before anyone says "why did you not pay . . .," this was before how it is now, and it was remorse, not a SNAD.  eBay told me to contact ebay.ca and it went back & forth forever. 

 

@pondwitch - I hope they do remove it and the ignorant rude buyer too

How did you report it? Through the official feedback removal request process?  If not, you should do that immediately since there's a 90-day deadline.

But like some of the other posters, I'm wondering whether you filed and completed an unpaid item claim, which should have blocked the buyer from leaving feedback at all.

did you call ebay? or did you email them? and the neg seems to be at least 1 month old or older. You must call Ebay STAT!

This is a combination of the seller (OP) not bothering to do the necessary research and just reacting and ebay's poor communication and layout of it's policies.

 

Unfortunately there is nothing that anyone can do about ebay making the policies more clear and easier to find - and not hidden.

 

But, the second that feedback appeared, the OP should have looked up the rules about what is and is not allowed and what can block feedback - and only then called ebay - gotten a CS that does NOT have an accent and acknowleges that they are in the US and are a feedback specialist and all they need to do is look at it and it would be gone.

 

Often we will get posters who reacted first and only after they are unsucessful, then come to find out what they should do and often what they did is damaging to them and not reversible.

 

If the feedback is left before the UID is closed, all a seller needs to do is report the feedback abuse then call and ask for a feedback specialist to get it removed.
