It's only the 13th, and already I've gotten one chargeback from someone who "doesn't recognize the transaction". This is not a new user, but an infrequent buyer with only 6 feedback.
I also have one INR currently open. The tracking clearly shows it was delivered on December 7. I uploaded the tracking and the delivery date and address into the request. So I'm just waiting on that to be decided by ebay.
I have 4 packages that I got scanned into the post office on this past Monday (today is Friday) that never got any additional scan, as well as multiple others that are well past their estimated delivery date. So I'm anticipating more INR's on the way.
I've sold on ebay for a while, so it's not like I don't know the holiday season can be more hectic than usual, but it really feels like it's all piling on this year!

It is very few sellers that take this time of year off, but you are right, some do.
In the world of Chargebacks, the one with the reason "doesn't recognize the transaction" is the easiest to win. In fact the email you got from Ebay likely told you that you didn't need to do anything as they would take care of this with the financial institution. Ebay sends them the record / order/ payment record, which proves that they did purchase the items. So you really should be winning this one.
You are in good standing with the INR too. If the tracking shows it is delivered and you have uploaded that tracking to the INR, you will win the INR. Just give it time, it will close in your favor.
So far you are in a pretty good position.
For the 4 packages, you are OK with Ebay if you got the acceptance scan as far as Defects. As for your buyers, if these were mine, I'd go an file a Trace on each of the packages and I'd go to the USPS site, call up the tracking and sign up for email updates. DO NOT contact your buyer. Wait and let them contact you first.

Best time for sellers to win a 'chargeback'...during the holidays.
It requires like a long businesslike response where the bank will read it...not eBay. I did the 1000 word response.
And one needs to upload a document or something...maybe google the buyer's place and put that photo in the document with the tracking number.
Banks tend to move faster to get everything done during these holidays...because they rather enjoy the parties and time off...LOL
Just a thought...I did this around this time a year ago and won the dispute...heck, for my document I uploaded a photo of Barbie and Ken at Christmas time...LOL
So just keep in mind it is a hectic time, but the best time for sellers to win...due to everyone so busy during the holidays.

Makes sense that additional sales would bring additional problems.
I'll take the additional sales. 😉

In the other hand it looks like you have made at least 30 sales during December alone. Are you really willing to give up 30 because of one chargeback? And the INRs have a way of working them, selves out. Late does not mean lost. Late does not mean refund.

LOL, that's just the thing, December is my slowest sales month!
It's like twice the hassle for half the profit 😕

In that case I don't blame you for thinking about taking a break.

I know, and that's what I keep telling myself. Keep making sales, it'll all work out.
I'm just stressed about all of the things that are out of my control. This year in particular. Because this time last year, I was able to actually speak to a customer service agent on the phone here in America when I had a problem that I needed help with.
Now everything is decided by some AI algorithms, and I'm literally just sitting here waiting on some computer system to decide if I have to refund or if I can keep my money and keep my good standing on ebay.

This is why you need to review your buyer's profile before shipping.
You stated: have 4 packages that I got scanned into the post office on this past Monday (today is Friday) that never got any additional scan, as well as multiple others that are well past their estimated delivery date. So I'm anticipating more INR's on the way.
Are you just dropping at the counter and walking off or getting a receipt of acceptance? The receipt will back you up.

About anytime is a good time for the buyers and scammers to open chargebacks. If it is for an INR then pretty much the same rules apply that apply with an eBay claim, just upload the tracking information showing it delivered. If it is simply delayed upload any information that may be contributing the the delayed shipping such as weather or the Canadian postal strike.
If it is a NAD chargeback and you dispute it odds are as the seller you are going to loose and you will NOT be getting the item back. However, eBay may refund the buyer out of their own pockets but this is only a courtesy and will probably not happen every time.

Wait till the post holiday returns start coming. 🙂 As bad as it can be I can't see anything being as horrific as the 2020 holiday season during the pandemic. Some items send it November/December did not get delivered until February/March of the following year.

I'm not sure what looking at a buyer's profile can do. If they bought and paid, do I not have to ship the item? What reason would I use to cancel?
As far as the packages go, I always wait in line and get them scanned in and get a receipt. I learned this from past experience.
So they are all showing that they were accepted, but then no additional scans. I know that theoretically this means I'm covered, but what does that really mean? If someone files INR and it is still stuck in transit, don't I have to refund? And then I can file a claim with USPS, but then I'm at the mercy of them deciding whether or not to refund me.

December is a tough month even when it's super profitable. For those of us up north, it's cold, grey, and miserable. Carriers for all of the delivery services are overworked and are forced to deal with all of us in darkness and snow, on top of everything else. Seasonal workers don't take the same care as regulars and they lack the training/experience to even know what they're supposed to be doing so scans get missed and packages get lost. On the recipient side, people are strapped for cash and trying to figure out how they're going to pay for all of this come January. In short, people are stressed and crabby.
With all of that in mind, aren't you glad all you don't have to deal with the garbage that most folks do? Take a few deep breaths, remind yourself of why you've chosen this life path, and let things unfold as they're going to. Deal with the problems as they present themselves.

So far so good, no problems. I've got four different post offices I use. I never get a receipt, three of them are smaller offices I just hand them the packages and say no receipt. The bigger post office I use has a counter area at the end for dropping off packages so I drop them and go.
I guess some would say I've just been lucky, and that may be but so far I've been lucky over 2000 times.😀

For your INR's mam98031 pretty much covered the standard processes. There is one other element that could be coming into play. Depending on where is your buyer located, the shipment could be impacted by other factors. Are they possibly in Canada or in an area impacted by the weather issues? EBay has some seller protections for those cases. Additional information you should add when you respond to the INR.
