I'm new to selling, and for one of the current listings I have, a potential buyer asked about the physical size of the item. I didn't see the question for several days, not even when I checked the listing and found a bid on it. You have to scroll down a way to see where questions have been submitted, and I totally missed it. Fortunately, the buyer didn't give up and the bid is still active.
Many apps alert you to new activity by displaying a small numeral next to the app icon. I would like to have the same thing with eBay. Is there a way to set that up? I looked at the options under Settings and I didn't see anything like it.

Don't you have the Notifications bell at the top right of your screen?

I do, but I have to click/tap on it. It doesn't show me by default that there's some new activity I need to look at. If I become more active in selling, this won't be much of a problem anymore, but as it is right now, it would be great to have something show up on my Android home screen to let me know I need to check my eBay listings.
For instance, in Facebook Messenger you get that little numeral above the app icon, telling you have that many unread messages. I'd like to set up eBay to do the same thing, if that's possible.

ETA I just found now that I had a new message on my active listing, but I didn't know until after I clicked on the bell.
