Note to all Sellers

This is just a little suggestion to all Sellers out here on Ebay or any other purchasing website. When you place the details of your product, Kindly remeber to add in your description all things needed for the product to work properly. If your product takes Batteries and you are not supplying the first set of batteries with the product. PLEASE put in the description what types of batteries the product takes to work properly. Example - If your product takes Triple A Battiers - add in that the batteries need to be eith Alkaline or Zinc. Some of us so called idiots will automatically assume that we can just go purchase any kind of batteries and the product will work. Bam walla and be done. Seems not the case. Also be kind and add in a little extra description of any other items the product may need to work properly. Like bulbs, umm led replacements, or other items. As a just incase the get screwed up in transet from you to the buyer. At least give people the heads up. Some of us live on very limited income and have to save up to make purchases. When we do make those purchases and we do not have the proper information right off. We feel screwed and have to struggle to make the product work properly for us. So be considerate to your potential customers and let them have any and all details up front. So they can be satisfied with your purchase and feel confortable coming back to you for more purchases. Okey just a suggestion........ Have a great Ebay Day

If you're not sure about an item, why not send the seller a message?

Oh good grief......ever hear of a google search?  Instead of expecting sellers to hold your hand, do a simple google search. And that listing clearly stated what kind of batteries were needed. If someone needs it broken down further than that they probably shouldn't be buying that item. At least not on ebay. Buy it at a brick and mortar store where you can ask the salesman questions.

Because this is ebay and its the sellers job to make sure the listing states everything that is needed and everthing that is NOT needed and everything that IS and ISN'T included. Buyers should not need research products, the sellers should do all that work for them. /sarcasm.

If you can find this board down here in Ebay's basement, you possess everything you need to find the answers to any questions you may have.

You are going to be VERY unhappy if you ever buy any Sauder furniture....no, there isn't a fully assembled computer desk with hutch in that flat box...

Just FYI:

Zinc batteries are for flashlights, tools, motorized toys, and other electrical devices that do not have "brains" or electronic parts in them. Electronic devices will run just fine on zinc batteries, but will not last as long because they typically begin to act funny when the voltage drops. Flashlights just burn dimmer, and motors just turn slower.

Alkaline batteries hold higher voltages for longer, then drop off very abruptly. They are made for electronic devices that rely on higher operating voltages. You can usually, but not always, substitute NiMH rechargeable batteries for alkalines. If you put alkalines in a flashlight or toy, they'll run faster/better/brighter, but not for as long.

Lithium batteries can be used for longer life in alkaline applications, but some devices require them; like GoPro Hero cameras. If you use alkalines in these kinds of devices, you'll have similar "flakey operation" problems to running zinc batteries in electronics.

Obviously, if it would help one potential bidder avoid trouble, I'd gladly add battery requirements to my listings... but I already do that!

There are descriptions?  Where?  Oh wait ... they're under that button that many don't know to press.

That aside, my brother is a member of Mensa.  My mom used to always talk about that as if it were something huge.

I always told my mom, a person can be a member of Mensa but if the person has no common sense, being a member of Mensa means zilch, nada, nothing.

OP isn't complaining about the seller not saying batteries were not included. They are saying that the item required a specific type of AAA battery to function as intended. Like the other poster said, there are many types of AAA batteries and some are better than others at certain things.

@menasmaWould you mind explaining a little more about what happened? What is wrong with the item? What type of batteries do you have that the seller is saying won't work? Unless you have a strange battery type, what your seller told you doesn't make much sense.

The opinions expressed are mine, and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer.

Sorry this happened to you OP - your suggestion is a good one as many sellers do not include what does and does not come with an item, what type of battery or bulb it needs ect. Many have a one line sentence - see pictures.

Sarcasm not appreciate - go shop on any other site and the information is available either on the listing or on the box.  Sellers have a responsibility to make sure their listings contain all the information needed.
