I am a hobby seller and have a 3 day handling time to accomodate the long hours of my regular job. I try to ship quicker, but sometimes I just can't make it. Given the 3 day handling time, my shipping is always on time and delivered ahead of the estimated delivery time. However, I've been getting a bunch of emails in the last couple of weeks asking when my items will be shipping, often as soon as after 12 hours. I looked on my listings and noticed that my handling time is no longer visible - it appears to have lumped in with the delivery estimate. I'm not even finding it under the shipping tab.
Is this something new? Am I in a "beta"? Is there anything I can check / uncheck to make the handling time visible? Is my only option to put the handling time directly into the description?
Thanks,
jaring

This started a couple years ago, although occasionally I still the handling shown in some listings. I believe if you have a 5 day+ handling ebay points that out as extended handling on this item.

You can note your handling time in the "item condition" section. Some still may not read it, and comprehend.
I believe that you may be able to do that in "bulk" as opposed to 1 listing at a time.

I was looking on a desktop and the handling time wasn't there. I do see it on the mobile site. Thanks!

From your listing:
Estimated delivery dates include seller's handling time, origin ZIP Code, destination ZIP Code and time of acceptance and will depend on shipping service selected and receipt of cleared payment. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods.

Using a desktop I looked at 3 of your listings, and see no handling time.
I do see an estimated delivery time(oct 2. I am also in NY) that would suggest that it is not going to ship immediately. I understand that, but as you have noted no all buyers are picking up on that.
They are expecting to see tracking/movement on the next business day( or sooner ) for everything they buy. They expect everything with 2 day delivery. They are not clicking, and digging into payment and shipping details to see a handling time.
That is the reason that I suggested getting it first thing in the "item description", so it is front and center right in their face.

Earlier today, I looked at a listing that specifically said 4 days handling time. So "extended" handling times do exist.
It also helps to specify the cheapest and slowest shipping method FIRST, so that the estimated delivery time frame is longer and more visible. If the buyer then chooses a faster option, the handling time does not change, just the estimated date range.
And, yes, mention within your TOS -- Description and/or Payments/Shipping tab -- that your standard handling time is 3 days after cleared payment. Or that you ship on Wednesdays and Saturdays or whatever. Eventually, eBay will provide a structured means of providing this information, including what days you are "closed."

Its been gone or difficult to find for a couple of years. When I realized this, I put a handling/shipping time in my tos. You could do that.

This has come up in recent months and it was clarified that Ebay is removing the handling times; they feel it is sufficient for the buyer to see the delivery times.
But buyers may want to know when the seller ships, not just the estimated delivery date.
