Did you mean:

Non paying buyer

So I only sell at fixed price but when a buyer emailed me for a discount I responded with offer. They accepted. I wrongly assumed the immediate payment option I had on would carry through. Lesson learned.

So a week later buyer still has not paid and only gives stupid excuses when I email him.

I opened a case and now my only option is to take action - receive fee credit.

It's been awhile since I had to do this. You used to have options and there was info explaining the dispute.

If I select that does he get an unpaid strike?

Can he still leave negative feedback?

I noticed looking at his feedback left for others he not only doesn't pay but leaves negeative feedback for sellers.

Awesome.

Non paying buyer

He gets a strike and feedback is blocked.

Had the other sellers filed cases, he wouldn't be leaving negs for unpaid items

Also block those with 2 or more unpaid strikes.  It gets rid of the worst of them.

Non paying buyer

Sorry this happened to you.  No good deed goes unpunished, they say.

You might try this next time.

You can send a counter offer via messages.  Just don't make it the kind that you add, that they can accept.  Just type it in a message.

Then the buyer will need to message you back with a written acceptance.  IF they accept, revise the listing to the price agreed upon, and tell the buyer that you have adjusted the price to the price agreed upon, and that it will stay up like that for 48 hrs.  This gives the buyer incentive to act upon it, and your IPR, immediate payment required, will still be in effect, so if they want to buy it, they will have to pay to do so.  That way, if the buyer bails, as yours did, the listing stays up for the responsible buyer to buy.  You can always revise the price back to the price you originally listed if you care to.

In other words, don't use the counter offer function on the first email.  As you now know, if the buyer accepts, that negates the IPR.

Good Luck
