I've had an order for these for over 3 weeks now. I placed a second and 3rd order hoping to get something soon. I have only one left lol.
What is going on? I'm assuming they have a production shortage. What are others doing?
I was able to cram a couple of orders into a cardboard flat rate envelope.
But usually that doesn't work. May have to ship more Fed Ex since their price has gone down.

With tRump's donor/financial supporter LaJoy now in control at the USPS, the entire operation is strategically slowing down to a crawl. I've had the same problem with other supplies as well.
Does your local PO stock any supplies?
Also, the FedEx idea is not bad, but that is exactly what this PMG LaJoy is hoping the American public does. He stands to profit greatly from people leaving the USPS. Its like making Pete Rose the Commissioner of MLB.

They've probably been pilfered by all these postage-dodging sellers who seem to think that PFREs are an acceptable way to wrap items for shipping Parcel Post and Media Mail. 😠

They have them but are taking a lot of time to process and deliver orders. I placed my last order 06/29/2020; they finally mailed it out July 27, 2020 and it was delivered July 31, 2020 over a month after I requested it. By that time I was down to my last few envelopes. Since this appears to a problem that won't be ending soon I suggest that you place your postal supply orders from the USPS Postal Store long before you need them.

The real reason is because they are not being made because of the virus. Has nothing to do with Trump.

I am sure that if there are Presidential debates that this will be one of the top issues!!!!! I have a few hundred in stock (prior planning) and would be willing to donate them them to any person or cause if it would sway their vote towards my way of thinking.

Yeah probably the same people who HOARDED every last bottle of rubbing alcohol from every store for 15 miles around and are now selling them here at a huge markup, padding with "free" usps supplies since they're barely making a dime. No surprise there, how they didn't realize it would be $8 to ship one quart of liquid because of weight, however in terms of ignorance it's also no surprise.
So I have to pay $15 for a $3 bottle because THEY couldn't leave it at the store, perhaps soon we will ALL Pay more for shipping as well to help cover the high cost of "free" shipping supplies. $15 for a quart of rubbing alcohol, $8 goes to shipping, $2 goes to fees, $3 for the bottle leaves $2 in profit, boy oh boy how smart THAT was!

Because the discussion just wouldn't have been the same without that one or two who couldn't resist the urge to slip in their political bias and hate.

Well, I can tell you where three of them are:
They're currently airing out and regaining their shape over here at my place, after being used as padding in a package I received from another seller a few days ago. (At least he shipped the box via Priority Mail, for what that's worth.)
I don't use these myself, so I unfold them out flat and set them aside to recover their original shape, which they do after a week or so. Once I have a large-enough stack (I get these all the time, used as padding by other sellers; it's ridiculous), I take them back to the post office on my next trip.
Here's my previous post on this topic, with photos of the batch I brought in last December:

Don't worry, you'll eventually get them. I put in an order through USPS for some about a month ago and I just got a notice yesterday saying that they shipped! There's probably a shortage of them!

All the supplies are low and slow as COVID shipping is as busy as Christmas. My PO just restocked flat rate boxes after 2 weeks of being dry.

They are on back order because of the virus. I was told that the USPS is now monitoring and auditing how many of the free padded envelopes they ship to a business. They have found many seller abusing the use of the padded envelopes, they are using them for bubble wrap & wrapping all there merchandise with them and then shipping it by Fedex. Just because the item is free-does not mean abuse the system.

The two pack (NOT the single) is in stock for $3.92. Free shipping w/$35+ order. I order these once a month along with a bunch of other household items, dog food and cat food.

I am also waiting on three orders of padded envelopes going back to June 20th. They dont have any to ship. I suspect like the ebay padded envelopes that took seven weeks to arrive, they are made in China. Good news is that they dont have a shortage in other shipping supplies and I have been receiving my other items from them within five days of ordering. I discovered that most of what I usually ship in a padded envelope can be squeezed in the legal flat rate envelope, or if it is too bulky the small Priority box (Non Flat rate) will work.

I just got 100 today, ordered 3 days ago
