What you see are the extact e-mails and responses. So now you can not tell an e-bay customer that you have the item they want even when listed on e-bay for sale. And all the e-mails are being sent through the e-bay system.
Good luck to all and remember we do have some power to fight this as, we own all the goods sold on fee-bay. E-bay was once a good site as all of us who have been around awhile remember but it gets worst every year. I have 40,000 item listed on over 5 different sites with only a few 1000 listed here. this is years of work and I will not let e-bay destory it. My sales here keep droping and when I do not make money I will leave but my items will remain for sale on many other sites.

You need to check the sellers "other items for sale" to see what they are selling. Asking such as you did is considered an attempt to purchase outside Ebay and not allowed. They do not wait for back and forth replies to see if there is shenanigans going on.

I have gotten messages before from eBay when I tried to send messages to members about an eBay purchase. The eBay bot picks up on a word and they think you are trying to take the transaction off of eBay so you just have to re-word it.

Um...the OP is the SELLER!

You: "Why did you pull me over, officer"?
Police Officer: "Well, sir, you were driving... and since you were driving, I have to assume that you INTENDED to drive faster than the speed limit, so I was forced to prevent you from driving".

Not only is OP the seller, but eBay retired that stupid rule last year!
You must not know the staggering numbrer of complaints on the boards about the new bot-driven messages sellers - and buyers - are getting about contact info in messages when there is NO CONTACT INFO OR ATTEMPT TO DEAl OFF EBAY!

All the Catholics (me included) would plead guilty. lol
This is eBay's version of Minority Report.

ebay has sent the message, multiple, multiple times. Buyers/sellers are crafty, and have picked up on that message!
"We can't be expected to enforce our own policies, why in the world would we expect buyers/sellers to follow them?"

eBay is worried that by giving out your name, you might perhaps be trying to do an off site sale. I got that email too.

lol had a guy ask about a part, the new PN is xyz.
Old PN was 012-345-6789.
Got the same off ebay massage.
ebay just does not get that some times you need to talk before the sale.
And not all questions can be answered with email.

ebay is paranoid that somewhere, somehow, a nickel may slip out of their eager grasp.

I get those pop ups all the time and have to keep altering the message. Never is it about selling outside of eBay mind you. Talk about full blown paranoia. Lol.

@*help_no_brakes* It doesn't matter if the OP is the seller or the buyer. The person who asks could just as easily click "see sellers other items". No need to message the seller. If the seller has it listed then it is for sale. If it is not listed then it is not for sale.

I have tons of stuff not listed that are for sale. It just depends on whether or not there is exposure at the time for auctions. If I notice low exposure, I wait a week.
