This morning I received a INR. Item mailed 17th, delivered 22nd. Customer left note saying, checked with neighbors, no package. I responded as per how I’d done in the past, basically sending the same info the customer already knows.
Then started thinking about a recent post where seller did everything right and in the past would’ve been protected by the negative feedback her buyer ended up leaving her.
My gut then said to refund my buyer for the missing package. So I did. He was so very thankful, sending me a super nice message. And not only did I make my customers day, it made me feel good. Sometimes $25 is all someone has these days, and even though feedback was in the back of my head initially (and the lack of seller protections) it really came down to what would I want to happen if this situation was reversed?
So many tantrums and rants on this board (me included) lol
But **bleep**, it just feels good to not complain and just be a nice person 😁

I remember how blown away and grateful I was when Mattel refunded me for an expensive Barbie order that was porch pirated (or the driver took it - call me cynical) within 5 minutes of the notification and photo it had been delivered.
If the buyer is decent, maybe they'll offer to repay if it should turn up.

I've had a few where I've refunded (or replaced) in the event of an INR, even though tracking showed delivered.
I follow my gut feeling. If it's a small value item and I believe the buyer, sometimes a few bucks is all it takes to resolve the issue (even though I would win the INR). A couple times I got a message a week later that the package eventually showed up... they asked how to repay, I said just to order more stuff. One customer who was refunded for 99 cents in stamps spent $20 in my store on random stuff to repay me for the refund.
