I never list auction items. I've been burned by so many buyers from past.

Now, I have 2 buyers that haven't paid. I sold one item yesterday. Now,

the buyer send me an email...I will pay after Sept 1st. Can any one let me

know, what is the normal time allowed for unpaid auction buyers. Amazing'how some buyers dictate what they want to do without paying for an item. What is regular

time frame for most Ebay auctions? Thanks 🙂

There is no "regular timeframe". I give buyers frour weeks.

It's the 29th and he wants to pay after the 1st - if my buyer wanted to wait three or four days to pay, I would be happy to oblige.

Ebay and sellers both prefer immediate or asap payments, but Ebay gives the buyer 7 days to pay.  Ebay allows the seller to file an unpaid item dispute in 48 hrs, and close it in 96.  Buyer gets a strike, just two of those can block them from buying from many sellers for year,  seller gets fees back and can re-list or offer second highest bidder a second chance offer.

Listing fixed price, immediate payment required eliminates the slow payers.

It's annoying to be sure, to be asked to wait AFTER the fact, sorry this happened to you.

Mine also. But I allow a long time for payment also. I may have closed 3 UID's for non-payment in 15 years.

I'll go along with the never list auctions part, but not because buyers don't pay in a "timely" manner.  For me auctions just don't sell.

Last month ebay gave me 50 free auction listings x 2 accounts which I used just to see if anything had changed on the auction front.   Out of 100 auctions - not a single one sold.   I've relisted some of the same items as fixed price with this weeks fixed price promo, and so far four of the items that didn't sell at auction - sold at fixed price in two days.   

And no, I don't require immediate payment for either auctions or fixed price listings - I give buyers 7 days before I send a reminder and another 3 days before filing an unpaid item dispute.   In my experience a non-paying buyer is a rare occurrence.

Well if you give four weeks pretty much anything is timely...lol.

I rarely do auctions, but when I do the buyers always take their time. At least compared to me because I snipe and pay immediately.

What Lucky (who is a very respected poster by the way) is trying to say is that each seller is different. eBay allows for a minimum of 6 days, meaning you can open a UID (unpaid item dispute) after 2 days and close it 4 days later. But some sellers allow for longer. Some open the UID as soon as they possibly can.

There is legitimately no 'regular timeframe'. You HAVE to give the eBay minimum. Trying to override it with your own terms (payment within 24 hours or it's cancelled) will only bite YOU in the **bleep** overall.

I give 6-7 days, but rarely have to as my customers always pay immediately.

Often it's a day or two for payment, because winning and paying are sometimes two different things for an auction bidder.

Payment inside a week is totally reasonable.  On the positive side, you don't have to race to the PO to ship it until they pay you.

I have never had a buyer who said they would pay on a certain date NOT pay on that date.

I wait 7 days before I file for non payment.

If you want people to pay in a certain amount of time state that in your listing.

I let eBay do all the work for slow payers:  eBay opens the UID in 8 days and automatically closes it 4 days later if not paid.  I don't use IPR on my items but I only get an UID about once every couple months.  Just not enough to worry about.
