@55nitrocowboyEbay stopped allowing sellers to leave any negative feedback years ago. And you can't leave a positive rating with any negative comments. I don't understand how only sellers are honest all the time and can share their experience and sellers are not given the same opportunity. Basically, ebay doesn't care if a seller is taken advantage of by scammers and buyers who violate any ebay policy. They should stop with the Feedback system completely since it is so skewed.

Hopefully you've let the non-paying bidder automatic case kick in - the buyer gets a strike that way.  Everything is done automatically.  Feedback doesn't mean much, but a strike against the 'buyer's' account does - many sellers have our settings blocking buyers with 2 non-pay strikes in a year.

Sellers have been unable to leave negative or neutral ratings or buyers since 2008.

How fortunate you are to have had such good selling experiences, that you never noticed this before now.

It always amazes me that active sellers who ask this question went years without noticing that the only choices on the feedback screen were "Positive" and "I'll leave feedback later".

@55nitrocowboy

Because you can file an Unpaid Item Dispute, get back your FVF, give the deadbeat a Strike which makes it harder to buy on eBay in future.

And because feedback is not used by eBay to assess member accounts, but Disputes* are.And because nobody (almost) reads feedback.

Other sellers don't.

  • Because over 85% of listings are Fixed Price/Buy It Now, we don't know anything about our buyers until they purchase.
  • Instead we set up our Seller Preferences/Buyer Requirements to automatically Block members with Strikes.

EBay, as mentioned, does not use feedback to assess member accounts.

The deadbeat doesn't care, because whatever your words, you gave him a positive feedback.

The only reader?

Your future buyers.

And how will that potential customer react  when he sees you angrily denouncing another buyer?

*Both won and lost. A buyer who opens "too many" Disputes can lose the right to use the Money Back Guarantee.

This is one of the good eBay policies. eBay needs buyers a lot more than it needs sellers.

Buyers who get negatives, often from dishonest sellers, leave.
