Negative Feedback

I received Negative feedback for an auction that ended with a user that was in another country (outside the United States).  It specifically states shipping to the United States in the auction but this user still won the auction. Sent me a message after the auction asking if a "new amount ($500)" other than what was the winning bid if that would be fine to ship to Albania.  I canceled the sale with the Address option seeing there are only 3 options to choose from....   The next day the user left negative feedback to which I requested Ebay to remove as this user shouldn't have even bid on the auction in the first place.  They advised that they are not removing it as it was not a violation of their policy.  Has anyone else experienced this and if so were you able to get this resolved?  Pretty Annoying.

Members have had some good luck with asking for FB removal via the Facebook page..

You could send a message there and ask to have it removed.. Explain the situation that they asked for something not in the listing.. That is grounds for removal.

If the buyer didn't pay they shouldn't be able to leave feedback.

You may need to make several calls to them to get this resolved.

I didn't check your listing to see whether or not Albania was part of your shipping exclusions. If you had the region excluded, then this is what you do:

  1. Report the buyer for requesting that you ship to a different address
  2. Report the buyer for making demands that weren't included in the listing
  3. After reporting the buyer, go to Seller Help and request FB removal based on the fact that you reported the buyer for making demands outside the listing and the neg was because you wouldn't ship to an alternate address / ship to a country from your exclusions list (whichever is relevant).

No payment was made.  They messaged me asking if a larger amount of money outside that of what was the winning bid to ship to another country when the listing was within the United States. I reported them. However, I can't find a number to call. Should I just call Technical Support?

I very rarely get on Facebook but might be forced to do so.  Thank you for this advice.

I would have ebay call me again as I’m pretty sure your chances of getting an agent who will remove it for you is high… if you are correct that your settings only show that you don’t ship out of US.

Call during working hours like 9am-5pm. If you reach someone in US, they will likely be in Texas or Utah. So call accordingly to their time zone. Good luck.

Do you have a number, I can't find one anywhere on the website.

Albania was not in your list of exclusions for that auction item.

The way to contact eBay has been provided - use facebook as suggested as it is the best way to resolve something like this - CS are basically clueless.

Personally the negative remark makes the buyer look like they have no idea, but your FB% is very bad so you may find your selling here is restricted soon.

I think you should block these bidders before making any auction to be sure these things will never gonna happen again.

Calling ebay usually never nets any positive results. CSRs have a long history of telling you what you want to hear then hang up and do nothing.

However, much success has been reported using the FB option.

Negative Feedback

I am just undergoing a similar experience: I sold an item over a month ago, just now, a negative feedback was posted, stating item was used, with multiple scratches, not original, etc - not true. I contacted the Buyer, asking why he did not contact me immediately upon receipt of the item with any concerns. I would have gladly accepted the item back with return mail. I also offered to have him send me back the item for a full refund since I am very troubled by having a negative feedback. Response was that I should further take money off the price, for a "used" item - 30-40%. I did a new search on EBay for the item, and found it right away - same item, listed as new, almost 3 times the price AND SOLD FROM THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION!  The Buyer was in US, I shipped to an US address, but obviously, this is a scam. EBAY REFUSED TO REMOVE THE FEEDBACK - same reason - no policies were violated.  So, how are we to protect ourselves from this very, very unpleasant process?
