Need guidance on a buyer

Hello,

This may just be me being paranoid. But... I sold a computer here , nothing out of the ordianary. But I got a message from a person who wasn't the buyer asking me what the esitimated delivery was. I asked him if this was his alt account and to verifiy the name of the buyer. He was able to but keeps asking if I think that ups will delivery it today... even though the shipping shows a delivery date of monday.

The ebay buyer account that actually purcahsed the item is very old , like from 98 But the one who ask me the questions is very new . Its from near the end of last month.

Gonna assume from the lack of a reply that this is either a silly thing to worrie about or that even if it is a scam .. its pretty much nothing I can really do about it...

sigh*

We had a very strange refund request a bit ago from someone who identified the item, but messaged us from a totally different user ID from an Iphone. This is most likely a scam. I believe, not sure that Anyone can view the sold listings and then message the seller, PRETENDING to be the actual buyer. If you get messages from a totaly different user ID it is most likely a new fangled scam attempt. Ignore after letting them know to contact Ebay for more help. If it is a scammer--they go away.

very troubling. Is there anyway i can contact ebay directly about this to ask for guidance from them or at least let them get some eyes on it ?

I also just noticed the messages from the new account only show up in my email. But do not show up in my ebay messages. But they have the same header.

What happened with the delivery? Did you get the confirmation from buyer? I'm new seller so I'm worried about so many scams I'm reading about here. Is paying extra for signature delivery enough protection ?

For a sale of $750 or more, Signature Confirmation is required in order to maintain your Seller Protection (against Item Not Received disputes).

Below $750, Delivery Confirmation is all that's required, and Signature Confirmation below $750 will not get you any additional protection.

Not that the items you sell couldn't be scammed but the category you sell in is not a hot spot - most scammers are after tech - phones, tvs, game consoles, jewelry and coins.

very sorry for taking so long to give an update. I have been trying to gear up for the holiday sales.

The account that actually won the item contacted me and said it was his son using his own account to contact me. Buyer got the item on monday. Still no word.

I can only hope for the best.
