I have a buyer that messaged me that they used their old address when buying and want me to call fedex and change address, days later, after I had already dropped off the package. (fedex smartpost). I'm not going to do it. The item is not returnable, and they paid for the shipping on it. Personally I think they are trying to scam me. If they try to claim they did not receive it, and it shows it was delivered to the address listed when they bought it, who will win?

I should also add the value of the package is $320

You might consider recalling the package; there is a fee for this, about twelve dollars, I think, and I think you can do this online. AFAIK
But if you shipped to the address on the Paypal payment, they cover you.
Hopefully someone else will be along and weigh in on this.

If they leave a negative feedback on me for not changing the address will ebay remove it?

Probably, maybe, might...ebay customer service reps are luck of the draw.
I would recall the package and then if the buyer still wants it they can pay the $12 fee and all reshipping fees. The whole thing feels suspicious to me.
You have to cancel with "problem with buyer's address" or you will still owe fees, it has to be a new transaction to cover yourself, don't just reroute it!

Given that you shipped to the correct address, I think eBay would remove any offending feedback. What they are asking you to do is not policy.

What if they just left feedback saying I suck or something and didn't mention the address change? Would ebay remove it?

The OP said it went fed ex smartpost. No way will that be intercepted. No one will want to take responsibility - just like filing insurance for a smartpost package.

Your buyer can put in a change of address & forwarding order at the PO. You really can’t intercept a smart post package but I think the PO would deliver it to the new address on the forwarding order

I would hope they would. You can have them look at your message and see from the tracking that you had already sent the package. You can';t change the address if it had already been shipped, and anyway, you have to ship to the address on the Paypal payment. So you wouldn't have done it anyway~if you had, you would have lost your seller's protection.

You can't do an intercept on that? Did not know that.

They didn't put in a request to forward their mail to their new place when they moved?

You couldn't have altered the address, as another poster said, without losing your seller protection. A seller must ship to the address on the PayPal invoice in order to be covered on a Not Received claim. Your buyer could have simply added the new address at checkout.
This is an expensive item and you are a new seller, and something you said concerned me. So i am offering a little unsolicited advice. Keep your funds from this sale in suspense until the time period for the eBay Money Back Guarantee and PayPal Buyer Protection have expired. You said, “This item is not returnable.” This concerned me because, well, yes it is. If something goes south or there’s damage in shipping and the buyer opens a Not As Described case, you will be responsible for return shipping and have to refund the item in full if the case is ruled in their favor. So be prepared. I’m not saying this will happen, but it can happen and you will need the funds available if it did.

If I tell them to have fedex hold it at a facitily for pick up, would it show as "delivered"?
