Anyone else not having sales? At the start of May I went 8 days without a sale and then things picked back up for about a week and a half and then on May 20th... BAM, all sales came to a screeching halt again. I know that Ebay updated the view counts on that day, but I really find it hard to believe that is why sales have stopped considering the same thing happened at the start of the month.
Would love to hear if others are having the same issue.

Hi,
Yes, I'm having the same issue. Last week I sold ONE item. Typically I sold 10-20 items each week before mid-May. And, it is NOT economy-related, or pricing-related, or the products listed. IT IS EBAY. I cross-sell on 4 other marketplaces and the sales volume on each of those marketplaces have remained the same even though I have the same items listed for higher prices on those marketplaces. 🙂
What worked in the past to generate sales (promoted listings, markdown promotions, end/relist, bulk relist, etc.) is not working on ebay now. No clue what they did, but several times a day I have to end an ebay listing because it sold on another marketplace. Every time, I think, "ebay, you are screwing yourself out of revenue" because they are the ones affected by their "updates/glitches" whatever it is, not me and not the other marketplaces. 🙂
If you're not getting sales here, I highly recommend listing the same items in multiple other marketplaces. You'll get sales. 🙂 Maybe buyers just aren't using ebay anymore now that there are a lot of other marketplace options for them to shop.

Hmm gas cost us (fuel costs): food cost up and of course takes away expendable income that is used to purchase items;
Of course I believe eBay's new search system is also responsible......
Buyer leaving due to they can not find what they want and so on....
In other words welcome to the new and improved eBay.......... Or unimproved ebay.
Time will tell where all of this goes..

I'm certainly looking into other outlets, problem is I don't have a smartphone and most are apps or require one to communicate with buyers (like FB). Looks like a good yard sale or flea market is in my future! I'd rather sale off all my inventory then go down in flames with zero sales.

Aww, hugs to you.

Someone tipped over the first domino and it's falling down. I just want to pick the brains of those sellers who aren't seeing a downfall in sales to know what magic they are pumping out because it's not happening where I'm at.

Hi,
I use the desktop versions of other marketplaces, not their apps, although I do have them installed on my phone. Posh, Merc, FB, AZ all can be done completely with a regular computer, too. I also use Bonanz and eCrat but they only generate 1-2 sales every month or two. Bonanz and eCrat submit listings to search engines, so that helps a bit. The majority of my sales are from those I listed and ebay, but after mid-May, mostly just those 4 I listed.
Good luck!

Hang in there! Plenty of buyers out there. You have some very interesting items. You just have to wait for the right buyer to visit your items to place an order. As you know, there are lots of outside factors affecting the buying sentiment.
Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I tried Mercari and they blocked me from opening an account because I did not have the app; told me I could not use the desktop to do business with them. Told them to forget about it and I marked them off the list. I do have a Posh account but haven't listed but have it on backup for the tons of jewelry I have yet to list 🙂 As for AZ not sure that is an option with what I sell and FB was the same as Mercari. I can access it but I can't communicate with buyers unless I'm on the app. Not sure why but it is what it is; trust me I've tried.

Thank you for the kind words; I'm not one to easily give up so I'm continuing to post daily on Ebay. However, grandma always told me to never put all my eggs in one basket (coming from a depression baby) so I think it is past time to transfer that over to selling online 🙂 It's good to know I'm not alone in this issue, but at the same time I want everyone to be doing well on Ebay; not just the big boy sellers.

Nothing since May 17, but I'm not getting any views either which is even more weird. (I'm accustomed to low sales since they forced the move to MP.)
oh, and Promotions are turned on for most items. Not even that shoddy little scheme is working. Nada. Zilch.

Mid-May for many. And mostly the one-off small sellers. It’s not you; it’s eBay. 😉

I tried promoted listings as well with zero results. What was odd is I would post something new (without being promoted) and it would sell within a few hours or a day when I had promoted listings turned on other items previously listed. When I turned off all promoted listings my sales came to a stop; that was May 20- which is why I feel Ebay is punishing me with no sales. Not sure what is going on but there are so many factors at this point I've stopped caring honestly. I just want sales to come back and am seeking help from my fellow ebayers!

Thing is, my items are one-off sellers which is fine by me. I've always been drawn towards the hard to find, unusual, or just pretty dainty items to resale. I like historical books as well and I do sell DVD but I've decided to hang onto them at the moment.
