My seller store suddenly shows far fewer items listed than my "manage active listings" area. What?!

I have 3626 active listings and up until recently all of them would show up in general ebay searches. I'd test these various searches every month by clicking on one of my items, click on "Seller's Other Items" and then search within my own listings using terms to find specific groups of items, etc. All was good until I noticed today that far fewer of my listings show up in those same searches at all. And the saddest confirmation of all is seeing that my my seller store shows only 1553 items listed, which contradicts my active listings number of 3626. How is this possible? Many are now excluded from my store, but show as active, but aren't visible on ebay (other than in my seller's tab of active listings). I now have a case open with ebay's tech support. Has anyone experienced this along with a solution? I've been on ebay for over twenty years as a buyer and seller and I list items regularly. Not sure what's happening here. Thanks for any help. I'll update this post when ebay tech support contacts me with a resolution.

I would suspect that ebay is hiding a number of your items from search.  They do that if they don't sell in a month and you don't delete/sell similar.  The algorithm hides them from search.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know of any way to identify quickly what is not showing up and be able to delete it and relist or sell similar? I have to figure out over 1100 items to do this for. Ugh... Thanks.

Well, anything that is just avout to expire means if they automatically relist they have been on site longer than a month.  Good chance they will be hidden.  You don't really want items to relist after 30 days, the algorithm already knows they have sat 30 days.  I would re-evaluate them as they may not be high demand items and taking up space better items you have could take.  If they seem good items, delete them and sell similar.  Maybe adjust prices, tweak your listing titles as well, before deleting/sell similar.

I had a customer service chat a few month back ago about this..had spotted on on multiple sellers pages and ours..it would show the numbers but when I clicked the see all it would only show a few dozen or just 2-6 promoted listings..
