For the past nine months I have been running a buy it now listing for snap caps. Before I created my listing I checked on eBay and saw several listings for similarly constructed snap caps, so I posted my listing because I thought I was selling was acceptable to eBay. My product was popular and my sales were growing with over a thousand dollars sales in the past 30 days. I had over 230 watchers. I was not making a lot of money, but as a retired US Army Vietnam Era veteran, the extra income helped cover my reloading hobby and I was able to contribute a few hundred bucks a month to the house budget my dearest wife managed.
Two days ago eBay removed my listing because I was building my non-firing snap caps with used brass and reloading bullets. My snap caps had a rubber filler in the primer pocket. If you look on eBay under snap caps today, you will see dozens of listing with snap caps made with the same materials. If I violated the rules, every one of them are violating the same rules, yet they are still up and running.
I am not wishing those folks ill, but it is most frustrating that my listing got pulled by eBay when many other listings of the same type product are running right now.
I would understand if eBay had pulled all the ads, because yes, now I know all of us are violating the same rule. I have to ask why me? It is my guess that I got pulled because I stated in my listing that I was a US Army Vietnam Era veteran. What makes me most sad is the jolting disconnect from all my hundreds of delightful buyers and watchers. Every day I received emails with buyers asking questions about my product. I received hundreds of 5 star ratings. I miss those communications and the wonderful feedback my buyers shared that helped me improve my SHAKE-IT Premium Training Rounds.
I am not **bleep**ing about eBay pulling my listing, but I am most dissatisfied that I feel I have been discriminated against, when all the other listings like mine are stull up and running.
I should sign off now before eBay bans me for saying anything about what happened. It is almost as if eBay does not know there are other places folks like me can sell our wares. I have been an ebayer for over 20 years and it saddens me to feel unwanted, when so many others are allowed to sell what I was forced to stop selling. I guess it is time for a change.

Ok, as far as i can tell, snap caps may be allowed to be sold here, but the rules for listing firearms accessories and the like are strict. Below are two related policies, in case you haven't seen them.
It is possible your listings violated some part of the rules governing firearm parts and accessories. For example, such items must be listed with domestic shipping only. If someone is listing snap caps for international buyers, the listing will get pulled.
That said, it is not a good idea to use existing listings to determine what is allowed to be sold on eBay. That can lead to policy violations. It is best to read all eBay rules first-hand before listing a product. There are many items not allowed to be listed here.
I promise you are NOT being discriminated against because of your veteran status. What makes you believe otherwise?
Yes, your experience sounds unfair. Sometimes eBay inconsistently applies its policies, and other times it simply fails to find and remove items that violate eBay terms. But without seeing your removed listings, can’t say why they may have been pulled—fairly or unfairly. Following is more info on this subject, as referenced above.

It could be that your listing was reported and the others haven't been, or they just haven't got around to removing them yet.

I had a similar issue. I had purchased a lot of 80 commercial snap caps on eBay and listed them in groups of 5 for sale. After a week or so eBay pulled my listing. I had to contact CS and explain that these items were within policy and that many others are for sale on eBay. They allowed the item to be relisted after review in a day or so.
I think they often have trouble with inconsistently applying their own policies.

I get the frustration but…
Officer, why do I get a speeding ticket? They’re going the same speed!

I would like to thank the good folks who took the time to reply to my post. Now that I am a few days removed from the occurrence and have the excellent feedback some wonderful eBayers with different perspectives and mind sets, I would like to close this topic with these observations.
1. eBay did nothing wrong in pulling my listing. My product violated eBay rules.
2. I incorrectly and improperly whined that eBay may have pulled my listing because I am a vet. That was a cheap shot for which I have no reason to believe is correct. I sincerely apologize to eBay which lists innumerable sales from vets.
3. The community is large and loud. You have helped me when I was buying; you have helped me when I was selling and you have helped me when I was whining. Thank you for being there with me for the past 20 years, may we have many more years together.
Most sincerely, Bill

I have just had a Lee Auto Priming tool Removed from Ebay, This is to put primers into shell, its a reloading tool, no components are included (primer, shell, bullets) , spent 1/2 hour on eBay with customer support, trying to see why this was removed, came down to them saying this is a component to make ammunition. Ok, then that means anything that is considered reloading equipment is part of a component to make ammunition , This is what eBay policy States on reloading equipment ,
Reloading equipment and weaponsmithing tools are allowed as long as there is no mention of assault weapons in the listing and no ammunition components are included..
My thoughts on the Lee Auto Priming tools is that I should of been able to relist it based on this policy, but they said no because they call this tool a component.

I am going through the same exact thing right now. An item that others have sold (right up to today) and are also currently listed. Was your outcome favorable. Thanks for serving out country!
