My first listing doesn't get... listed! Please help!

Hello! I've tried to create my first listing ever - to sell a magazine - and yet the magazine doesn't seem to get listed. Could it be that the shipping details are not right?

As Payment option I chose PayPal and I also ticked "Require immediate payment with Buy It Now". For the Shipping details, I chose "Calculated: Cost varies by buyer location". Then under Handling time I ticked "4 business days".

And in the "Calculate shipping" box, I entered my zip code (I am in Bucharest, Romania), which corresponds exactly to the one listed in my general account details. But I keep getting an odd red alert that tells me to enter the correct zip code. I did enter the correct zip code.

Could someone please help me get my magazine listed?

EBAY no longer uses PAY PAL for their money management.    In USA  you have to enroll in MANAGED PAYMENTS where money is deposited into your bank account.     Not sure what money management company they use in Romania.

This is news to me... And it's surprising because pay pal is still included in the selling form!... I'll see if I can switch from pay pal to something else... But it's odd that ebay keeps pay pal as an option in their selling form. It almost doesn't make sense to keep it as an option that invariably gets ticked, if it's no longer an option!

Thank you for your answer! I'm new to selling on ebay, it's my first time. So far I've bought two items via ebay and it went ever so smoothly, via pay pal... Now I'm confused about how to get my magazine listed.

This is the US boards. Im surprised you are trying to sell and list in the US yet you are in Romania.

The listing asking for zip code is looking for a US zip code.

It doesnt matter how a buyer pays, PayPal or CC or.... The option IS available for payment BUT sellers in the US must set up a Managed Payment account with their checking account and SS#.

@maria-cer0

Sorry for the confusion..

@caldreamer  is correct eBay has switched the US to managed payments for sellers to get paid BUT PayPal is still available for BUYERS to pay for items.

It is confusing..

Have you looked into if you can use Payoneer there?

Have you looked into what you need to do in Romania to get registered to sell here?

I'm sure that not all countries have switched to Managed Payments yet so it's possible that in Romania you can use Paypal to receive payments.  Have you linked your Paypal account and your ebay account?

Under item location, do you have the country and city entered as well as the postal/zip code?

You can't use calculated shipping from Romania.  Calculated shipping is based on using carriers in the US only.   When you list on the US site you must check the shipping rates from your country and then use a flat rate on the listing form.    On this site domestic shipping is always for shipping to the US regardless of where you are located.  So when you fill out the rate for shipping to the US it is set up in the domestic shipping section. You would choose one of the generic shipping options such as 'economy shipping from outside of the US' and enter a flat rate.

For shipping to all other countries, you would use a the international shipping section and a generic option such as 'economy international shipping'
