My cat is hindering my eBay progress, lol

Okay, so here i am, up early on a cold Sunday morning in New England. I let both cats out knowing full well that they would want to come back in soon, and they did. They both know where home is. I make sure of that.

Anyway, i brewed a pot of freshly ground organic coffee, and decided to scan a few new items that i could list and try to sell on eBay. Now is a perfect time for that, because i could get a lot done with zero human interruptions.

But . . . . out of the 1001 places there are in this house where a cat could decide to take a nap, where does Courtney have to be? Right on top of my scanner of course, lol.

For those of you who may not know, Courtney is the white cat in my picture. When that picture was taken, she was also on my scanner. I captured two purrfect pictures of her smacking the camera lens with each of her front paws - smack, smack - a left . right combo. She is a very good little boxer, lol.

Oh well, so that is my current cold early morning in New England dilema.

Cute.  Get the catnip!

Great! 45.8% down over the same time last year with 2x+ items listed. Are you impressed? I'm certainly not!

Brilliant idea!

It may have occurred to me eventually, but probably not until after my second cup of coffee, LOL.

Whatcha do -

1st - get one of those small electric lap blankets with the timed on/off 3 way (3 hr auto on/off) controls.

2nd - get a stack of boxes about 3 ft. high and put them near your work area.

3rd - put the 'cat blanket' on the boxes and turn it on low - usually as soon as you sit down.

4th - tell the cat 'It's OK, it's YOURS'!

Cats only have ornamental fur - not good for anything but 'looks'.  Your scanner is warm, and the blanket is warmer.

Smiley Wink  I've got one here (cat, that is) that is agreeing with every word written as she watches me from her blanket.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

Just put little Courtney to work. She can stage the items, while you take the pictures. Then when you make the sales, she can hold the package together while you tape the package. Of course that is only if you don't mind getting a little white cat fur all over the tape.  🙂

That is a great plan! You know if your kitty isn't right on your lap, he or she still wants to be nearby you. Since my orginal post, she has moved from scanner top to lap. She is situated so that i can operate my keyboard mouse and scanner . . . . sort of, lol.

We have 6 cats here and they are not allowed out.

Since my desk next to the stairway, the cats often use it to shortcut their way to the ledge in a stealth attack.  And of course they have to come and let me know that they want kitty love on a regular basis.  Each one comes to jump on my lap at least a couple of times a day and always when I am about to do something selling related.

But with six furry cats, and that I sell clothes, my cats usually hinder my process as I have to lint roll just about everything to get stray fur off.  The fun is now in winter when their fur sticks to me and when I get near a black garment, I can watch stray hair leap from my tshirt to the garment like it was a high powered magnet.

Well, of course!  And, we all know that cats just love to be helpful - it's what they live for - just not 'too' helpful.

How else would they be noticed?  Smiley Very Happy

You are wise ti keep your cats indoors, especially if you reside in a busy, high traffic area or the opposite - remote wooded areas where coyotes and other larger predatory animals may be present.

Sadly, once a cat has gotten used to the outdoors, it can be so hard to try and keep them in after that.

Actually all of them were strays, 3 we know for a fact were born and raised their kitten life outdoors, Nessie was one.  The recent 3 were all rescues from shelters, we are pretty sure that at least 2 of them were indoor/outdoor and have various interest in the outdoors.  The ginger tabby, Cinnamon, loves going out, but his entertainment comes more from us chasing him trying to get him back in the house.

And here comes Jack.

 Nessie is beautiful!

We also have Cali, a long hair calico. I got a few great shots of her in my snowy backyard. She is about six, maybe seven years old, and Courney turned four years old in August. So astrologically, she is a Leo, and she is the dominant cat. She is the boss, and she knows it. She thinks she is a lion, and we have never told her otherwise. 😉

wow! Thank you for rescuing those animals! I can see they have a great life there. Hopefully, there is ample space in your home where they can get some exercise and enough enrichment items to steer them away from boredom. Those are the only two problems i have ever seen with strickly indoor cats.

Cali looks like a tortie.  I had one some years back with that half/half split down the nose.

Tortie's are strange cats.  Great cats, but often strange.

Your cat is sweet, and obviously can't survive long outdoors with that fur.  You really take care of it.

Dad's favorite cat passed away a few months after mom died and then a month later mom's favorite cat passed and so I suggested that we get another from a shelter.  So we went and Jack was in the last day room at the shelter, he's about a year old and is scared, the way most ferals that don't adapt are.  Dad just said to get him (dad hates shopping).

So we get home and Jack spent his time sniffing ot the other cats and jumping on dad's lap and wrapping his paws around dad's neck and licking his chin.  So the next morning he came and said that we should go and get another one.  We got 2, picking out one and took the little b&w Elania because she threw herself against the glass door like a warner brothers cartoon character, begging us to take her with us.

The 3 new ones play because they are younger (Jack was the youngest at almost a year and Elaina was over 2) and we trade out toys and yesterday I rehung the snuggy over the back of the living room chair to give them a tent to sleep/stalk/hide in.  They have plenty to do, and two of them like to keep my ebay merchandise warm by sleeping on the boxes it is in.
