My experience with selling on eBay has been really terrible so far.

I've been on the platform for about a month now, and within that time I've had to call support 7 different times for help.

The first time I called them, it was because my account had been "PERMANANTELY TERMINATED" on the FIRST DAY that it was created. I hadn't even LISTED anything yet. I talked with support, and they happily reinstated it.

The next couple times I called them, it was to increase my selling limit.

I called them this morning, because one of my items had been removed due to a claim that it was "counterfeit". What??? I included 12 crystal clear images and an accurate description on the item that I was listing.

30 minutes ago, I get an email that my account has been "temporarily restricted", and that ebay is "here to help me get back to selling". So I call support for the SECOND time today. Support agent spends 10 minutes reviewing my account, and tells me that I am permanently suspended, and that I need to find a NEW PLATFORM to sell on.

Keep in mind that when I asked her why I had been suspended (or even temporarily restricted in the first place) she couldn't provide me an answer because that would "ruin the integrity of eBay's selling platform." What??????? How could this make any sense? Any action that eBay has taken on my account within the last 3 weeks has been completely unwarranted, because I have done absolutely nothing wrong.

 

I even have a STORE SUBSCRIPTION. How does this not prove that I am committed to selling on this website?

 

It's no secret that ebay is pushing away new buyers, and simply relying on the ones that have been here since the 1800's.

 

What can I do????

If you contacted the call-in support, you got a group of contract individuals that have no real ability to help. They only "help" you off of the phone. 

 

Contact the eBay for Business group on Facebook. They are real employees.

I don't have all the facts, so I'm not saying that this will be resolved to your satisfaction, but there is the info.

Thanks so much for your help... I am currently on the phone with another call-in agent who will hopefully give me a different answer, but if that goes south I will follow your advice.

Ebay has only been around since 1995.  Looks like you haven't even been on Ebay a month.  When you start off selling high dollar items as a new seller,  it will raise red flags every time.  You are under Ebay's radar, as most new sellers. Did they ask you to provide receipts for those items you sold?

 

What you need to do is to reach out on social media to have your account re-evaluated:

These are credible US cs agents that actually work for Ebay and are more likely help you with your issue.

 

Many positive outcomes posted here in their ability to be helpful. No one here can guarantee you will be re-instated, but at least thru this link you can be better served.

If eBay banned you before you listed anything, they probably had already linked you to someone already banned. Your selling limits are increased by selling and successfully completing transactions.  Calling them when you have not sold anything yet or a couple of things is not a good idea.

 

But the final blow was the counterfeit charge. If you tell us what you listed and where you got it from maybe someone can help you out. Unfortunately when eBay issues a permanent ban, it is exactly that.

@ckimodog Didn't ask me to provide receipts, but agent that I'm currently on phone with says she is sending me an email asking me to provide Govmt ID. I assume this is something that normally occurs in the process of getting an account restriction lifted? (assuming that I have started off by selling high dollar items, raising red flags like you said)...

Yes, give them all the info they asked you to give them and hopefully your account will be re-instated.

Well, they provided me a link that is completely broken. Wasn't exactly surprised. Looks like I'll be contacting the facebook link you both provided, thanks again.
