This is turning out to be a bad week...LOL
I never had a 'return'...on all my years selling as far as I can remember.
Funds are on hold for item AND the shipping.
Item is being returned from UK...so it's 99.9% there will be no tracking from buyer I am very sure.
"return approved' ...by eBay...I just got the email!
Reason for return : 'Changed mind.'
'The return has been approved automatically, per the eBay returns policy'.
Is this AI or what?

This is the standard message I get for returns. Because my listings accept returns, ebay automatically approves it and then either the item is sent back and you refund or the item doesn't get sent back and ebay closes the return.
If you don't accept returns, ebay might send a different message asking you to approve a return or send a label if it's INAD.
I don't think it has anything to do with AI.

If I do nothing...no tracking shows upon a return item...it will be closed in my behalf?
And the funds are on hold until June 5th?

And item mailed on May 5th from USA reached UK on May 14th? Is that even possible?

Yes, if there is no evidence that it was sent back in the required timeframe, it will automatically close in your favor.
ebay provides them with a return label that includes tracking. This is at their cost if you have 'buyer pays return shipping' set up. If you have 'free returns', this label will be at your cost.
Based on the price of your stamps, I can't believe anyone would go to the trouble to send something back... especially from another country.

If they want a refund, they'll have to use tracking to show it was returned.
Once they find out how much it's going to cost, they might decide to keep it.

If you mailed as a letter then that's possible. I send cheap cards by letter and UK is usually between 1 and 2 weeks.
It is possible for a buyer to start a remorse return before the item arrives though.

Nothing but wait to see what happens.
if they decide not to ship it back, the case should close in about 21 days.
