I didn't notice it until yesterday and I don't know HOW I missed it. And I have no idea when it happened. The amount of work to find whlch are missing and to then photograph them, research, list each, write copy...is mind boggling for me.
These books were listed for a while and they weren't taken down by ebay for any policy issue. Has this happened to you?
Trying not to be overwhelmed. Michelle

To make sure eBay is a safe place to buy and sell, sometimes we have to remove or hide listings. We'll only remove or hide a listing for one of the following reasons:

Wow...that's crazy. When I checked your store I see 165 items listed under the book category. You should try contacting EBAY to find out what is going on. Sometimes when programmers screwup they are able to correct their mistakes with no harm done.
EBAY has screwed up in the past. I remember a couple years back when EBAY accidently deleted all photos from thousands of Sellers listings. I had to redo and photo over 1,000 items. It was such a nightmare that I never wanted to go through again. Now I keep copies of description and all photos on my computer...just in this happens.

Losing listings is an old problem sellers have complained about for years - I've never lost quite that much, but I sell seasonally so have a chance to find lost listings every three months when I go through my inventory for that season. I usually have about 10 lost - more when I was full time. I put it down to data base indexing problems and look at it as 'new' inventory and look at it as improving the chance as a sale because it's 'fresh'. eBay can't do anything about it, those listings are gone.
Losing 100 titles would be really maddening, though, and I'm sorry to hear that - that is a lot of work. I save all the photos I take until the item is sold - that way at least I don't have to re-photo everything, even if I have to write up the listing. I haven't sold anywhere else that loses listings like this, OTOH, nowhere else I sell has close to 2 billion items running.

Books can be very slow sellers and Ebay can remove listings after a year of no action. That is just one reason to periodically remove listings and then relist using sell similar.

I believe eBay loses listings on the 30 day roll overs of fixed price items in stores. I too have found items in inventory that I don't have a listing for. And with 5000 listings, I'm not going through it all.

I agree - I think they're lost on indexing. I've had them disappear in 30 days, too. I did a little investigation a while back, tracking re-listings with my own invoices to see if I could figure out what was happening - no really precise data, but I did note that within a 30 day period, they had disappeared. I could go back and match my inventory with listings and invoices, but it wouldn't make any material difference as to what I need to do.
