Good Morning Ebay,
As horrible of a time this is for the world right now, being stuck at home has done 2 things... we are shopping like heck on the Internet (mostly on Ebay of course!) AND in my house, we are taking the opportunity to do some Spring Cleaning! Going through packed closets full of things we don't need anymore... because what else are you going to do while you are stuck at home? Reruns get old, gaming gets old... why not do something productive, cleanout your house and list on Ebay while we are stuck at home?
The only thing is that I ran out of free listings... You had offered a promotion a couple weeks ago, while we were still working and we had no time to list because we were rushing to the grocery stores trying to find toilet paper and Hand Sanitizer, but now the country is pretty much stuck at home doing... nothing...
Please help us bored, locked down people who but want to be productive, but are stuck at home cleaning out closets and rooms full of things we don't need.
Please Consider providing some additional Free Listings to the Community...
Sincerely, one of your long time members.

For months I've gotten a 500 free listing promo around this time of the month, not so far.
This always gets me into high gear listing auctions. But my stockpile is finite and I wonder if I am better off just listing some most days, spread out.
I am also closing in on no more single books to list on Amazon and ebay, 😧

If you get free listings, use them if you can. I use make an offer on fixed auctions on all my free listings. They will relist at 30 days so on day 29 I cancel them so I can relist new items next time around.....and not pay the relisting fee. Competition on eBay has driven the margins down on many of my items so minimizing fees is essential.

Most of us are experiencing very slow sales. So exactly why is eBay having the lowest month for free listings that I can remember for years? Their costs have not change because of the pandemic. More items for us to list means more revenue for eBay. Not understanding why they have changed their model this month.
More unsold **bleep** means more overhead for eBay.
Y'all need to grow up and stop demanding handouts.

FOR ALL:
Right now in this time in history when the World is turning upside down, a little consideration for everyone will go far. Very far.
What is JUNK to some, is bread on the table for others. This IS going to get worse before it gets better.
People are terrified, losing jobs, don't know how they are going to pay bills.
Who cares WHAT others want to sell right now. I wish everyone would come together and realize this is no longer about 'individuals' and their personal selfish needs, this is about a World CRISIS that IS getting worse.
In get part because people REFUSE to stay away from each other and follow what works. Too many people are taking this very lightly while others are behaving like spoiled children having a tantrum because they can't do what they want to do right now.
Online sales may boom or die is different categories, hard to say, but shopping online is likely to get heavier as people are forced into their homes to stay out of the public.
I wish everyone would stop fighting, sniping on each other, finger pointing, calling other people's inventory junk, whatever. People are SCARED. If listing their "junk" keeps them from losing their minds, everyone list more junk!
No one knows what the economic future looks like, selling gives people a bit of a feeling of control of their lives, a bit of money coming in, and some hope.
Let's not squash hope.
Junk won't sell. Clothes aren't going to be hot sellers. Now bread, milk, even yeast, those might sell.
People need to stop begging for freebies and start getting real. Flooding the site with their garage sale rejects isn't going to result in anything but a waste of time.
If the Op is so bored maybe they should find seniors in their area and offer to shop for them or FaceTime with isolated people who can't go out

I have been on eBay since 1 year after they opened the doors. They have mad a boatload off me. They still get a nice little profit each month from my seven businesses. Over the years they have squeezed sellers over and over. Doing business in the most efficient manner is how you stay in the game. It's not a hand out, it's being smart.

No, don't open a store. Opening a store means higher and more fees, plus you're subject to penalties if you don't meet EB's selling standards.
Members are subject to eBay's selling standards whether they have a store or not.
