Monster Quicklock Mini-RGB BNC Compression Connectors What does the color band signify?

I have some Monster Quicklock Mini-RGB BNC Compression Connectors, and they have a red band on them. I have seen others with different color bands. What does the color band signify?

My guess is the red is for the positive side and the other color is negative and identifies the channel.
