I have had a few orders this year to Minnesota, but eBay is not collecting the sales tax. We are legally obligated to collect sales tax as eBay is not our only avenue of sales and we do business outside of eBay. I've read some threads about this issue but none seem to ever come to a resolution and are closed due to the passage of time. We would really like to be able to collect sales tax. Any update on this issue?

Another seller had this issue earlier in the year and got resolution. I'll post with the seller's id shortly.

@autopiacarcare If I recall correctly you were able to resolve this?

Thanks for the tag @dtexley3 . @laundry_parts_pros - We had this issue a few months ago. Working with @Anonymous and customer service, we were able to get added to a special list on their side of things so that eBay would collect and remit tax for our orders to MN.
I don't know if they have come up with a better solution since then, but hopefully if you contact them directly they can get you set up correctly.

Since it only affects sellers in Minnesota who sell less than 10k on Ebay but more than 10k overall, it's probably a slim number. An individual workaround by Ebay seems fair.
This is only the second seller we've seen with this issue on the boards that I know of.

@the*dog*ate*my*tablecloth - To be clear, it doesn't just affect sellers IN Minnesota, it affects sellers anywhere with sales TO Minnesota that are less than the threshold on eBay alone but above the threshold overall. The tax is based on the buyer's address, not the seller's.
I agree, an individual workaround is fair since like you said, it may not affect very many sellers. What I meant by "better solution" was more just that hopefully they have made it easier for the sellers who need it to get that workaround. Earlier this year when we were dealing with this situation, it took over a month to get resolved. That was a long time to be stuck in limbo not having tax collected that was legally required. At that time, eBay was still trying to sort out the best way to handle this issue, so hopefully they have it dialed in now and it will be easy for @laundry_parts_pros to get on the list to have eBay collect the tax for Minnesota.

Oops, completely missed the boat on that one. Sales INTO Minnesota of less than 10k on Ebay but more than 10k on all venues. Thanks for the correction!

Hi @laundry_parts_pros, can you confirm for me if the account you have posted with is the selling account you are referring to with sales in Minnesota? If so, I can get the username sent over to the appropriate team to ensure your Minnesota sales are being appropriately taxed.

Hi Trinton@ebay,
Yes, it is this account, and also we do actually have another account as well "barryvic". We would like to get both of these added, thank you!

Hi @laundry_parts_pros, I've sent this over to the team for review - I don't have an estimated time for any adjustments, but will be sure to touch base with you as soon as I have more information to share!
