Member *** trying to rip-off people

eBay member *** recently offered another eBay seller under the table and got a deal. The original seller was putting a Stephen Curry Autograph card up for auction. There were a few bids on the item but original seller suddenly made early ending to the auction. After enquiry with the original seller, got to know "someone" proposed an offer of $700 to him to end bid early.

Now I did a quick search on eBay of Stephen Curry's Autograph cards and saw the exact same card with the same limited number code 55/99 made and same grading info of the card up for sale, but prices ofcourse are jacked up enormously by new seller ***.

member *** is obviously a clown and trying to look for fools to buy the card. Beware guys if you're looking for Stephen Curry's Autograph cards. He thinks he could get away by ripping people off, but he just don't know the card community is small and people around are watching over him.

Frustrated though you might be, I see nothing wrong with what occurred.

An enormous percentage of my auction sales of baseball cards go to other resellers who mark them up.

As long as I get the price I want, I am happy with that situation, as apparently was the seller on this card.

If this buyer can make a profit on this card I would not care if he does.

If I get a price I am comfortable with, I do not feel the need to wait 7 days. If other potential buyers are unwilling to bid early, that is their privilege, but having the auction close early is a risk they take.

While it is poor practice by the seller to end the item early as tobaccocardyahoo  mentioned there is nothing wrong with what the buyer did it happens all the time. If the buyer is able to purchase and flip the item and make a profit good on them and possibly a lesson to the original seller on ending auctions early when, if they had allowed it to run its normal course, they could have potentially gotten more for the card.

First of all, if you’re going to use my name in vain, at least speak the truth. I bought this card locally and paid well over the $700 he is stating and there’s no need for me to say how much I paid. I did not reach out to a seller and ask him to end a listing like he is stating and I don’t have the slightest clue on what and why he is putting the blame on me.
He contacted me and said how I’m “circumventing eBay rules and went behind and bought a card of a seller for $700 and how I’m a clown and want to rip people off” and so on and so forth.. I was confused and told him that I bought this card locally and I did not buy this card off eBay and if he’s upset about a seller ending bids to sell to someone else it’s not my fault and there’s no reason to be mad at me. He started going on talking tough and upset and calling me a liar and that he knows it’s me and the whole community is going to find out and so on and so forth and started calling me names, so I told him if he’s really that upset about something I didn’t do, let’s have a friendly spar I’m in San Diego and I’ll buy you drinks after. He didn’t like that and said he was going to put my name out there on how I’m trying to rip people off, when I haven’t done anything wrong but bought a card locally that I would like to sell. I even told him if he came to me with normal respect and told me the situation of what happened, and that he was bidding on that card and the seller did that too him, I would of tried to help him and at least hooked him up. I did not do anything wrong, and I told him let’s say hypothetically I did do that which I did not, theres no reason to be upset at someone’s grind, who ever did it probably needed to provide for his family there’s no reason to be upset at a man’s hustle. In all honesty because of the type of person he is I wish it was true and I actually did do that so I can happily admit to it. You’re blaming me for something I did not do, there’s millions of cards on eBay don’t take you’re aggression out on me. I am here like everyone else to make a extra Buck so for you to come and try to call me a liar, a clown how I’m mischievous and trying to rip people off when I have not done a single thing wrong is straight up unfair. You’re too upset for no reason. I wish you all the best man, and hopefully you end up getting the nicest curry card out there for a great price. Good luck!!

"Now I did a quick search on eBay of Stephen Curry's Autograph cards and saw the exact same card with the same limited number code 55/99 made and same grading info of the card up for sale, but prices ofcourse are jacked up enormously by new seller ***."

So you are saying there are several of these exact cards out there? Why are you assuming this is that same card you saw in that eBay listing?

I did a search of the completed items and could not find the card.

What is the item number of the auction that was cancelled without a sale?

Well the joke will be on them.  When you cancel an auction that has bids on it, Ebay still charges the seller the FVFs as if the item sold for the highest bid.  When they figure that out, they are going to likely be mad at Ebay instead of themselves.

The one that is listed for sale does have a 10 digit Certification Number from PSA.

@ccyyeun_95

eBay anonymizes buyer names on auctions and feedback to protect their privacy.

I am certain you believe what you say, but belief isn't proof of guilt. In addition, the manner in which you have come to the forums to name names and air your grievance violates the standards of the community.

The card was at Auction.

There were bids on the auction.

Did the seller have Best Offer on the auction?

The seller ended the auction early and sold to the highest bidder.

Your wording suggests that the $700 was a Best Offer.

My presumption is that you had not yet bid your maximum on the auction, and are annoyed because you would have bid higher than the $700 selling price.

The actual paying buyer has the card listed at a price giving him a profit on his $700++ purchase.

Since you feel the $700 was less than you were willing to pay, perhaps you should make a Best Offer on the new listing?
